I guess they are, although I've never felt the need... The palm side is waterproof and breathable, so your hands don't get 'sweaty' in use and I use them in combination with other 'gauntlets' depending on the task. I really like them and, although there are cheaper alternatives, feel they are better fitting, more comfortable and more durable.
