1 M1-103 Extended Performance Oil Filter (Pack of 2)

Highly rated, great price for two pack

Had an unfortunate experience of having our 2008 Corolla serviced for an oil change in one of the new auto shops in our community. Their price of a $19 plus tax and other fees - oil change is a great temptation when you are saving money at that time. Stupid mistake. Now I believe that we really get what we pay for. The price of this filter is competitive with what Pepboys and Autozone are offering, if this filter will ever be in stock in those shops. Upon receiving the item, you know by the feel of it that it has top notch quality. I didn't have the luxury of opening one but based from the weight alone and in comparison to the used filter my new mechanic removed, I definitely felt pride in this purchase. I used this with Mobil 1 extended performance fully synthetic oil which I also got here in Amazon. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more and pamper your car which I know is also taking good care of us.

I hate crawling under my cars to change oil. So I bought a Mityvac 7201 Fluid Evacuator Plus that allows me to remove the oil through the dip stick hole. I have posted a review for this device and it works great. But I still had to get under the cars to replace the oil filter. What a pain. And I don't trust oil change places to do a good job. I don't know if they really put the right oil in, or really replace the filter. Plus I have had a couple experiences with over fill and once they didn't put the dipstick back in the car. These filters are good for 15,000 miles. My cars call for 0W-20 Synthetic. Mobil doesn't make an extended 0W-20 synthetic oil, and theirs is the only oil I use. So, I replace the oil filter every other oil change. To verify that my oil is ok with changing the filter every other oil change, I sent samples to Blackstone labs. I sampled each vehicle twice to give myself confidence that replacing the filter every other oil change was safe. I also inspect the filter when I do change it to see if there is any physical damage. No problems. Remember, some oil is left in the system when you do not replace the filter, but this has not caused an issue in my vehicles. For my vehicles, the oil change light comes on at about 5,000 miles. So, I am running the filters for 10,000 miles. I may be able to go to 3 oil changes for each filter replacement, but not sure I want to risk it, although I think these filters would do fine. I recommend these filters if you are using extended service oil (and you change the oil accordingly) or if you do like I do and replace the filter every other time.

I have a M103A on now, the top of the M103 looks a bit different (where you screw it onto vehicle), have not used one yet though. They did arrive individually shrink-wrapped which was nice. Says Made in USA on the side of the filter I opened to inspect. 4 stars until I actually install one and put it to use but so far looks good. Will update at next oil change.

I have used the filters in connection with prior oil changes and they are fit for purpose.

These filters seem great. I don't get any sort of oil analysis done so I can't comment on how truly effective of efficient they are, but they seem well constructed and easy to install, so I'm willing to trust that Mobil makes a decent product.

This Mobil 1 M1-103 oil filter is an excellent and affordable oil filter. I got mine for my 2008 Toyota Prius in a two pack. I also use the 0W-20 synthetic Mobil 1 fuel economy oil. The maximum mileage is 15,000 but I usually go 10,000 to 12,000 because I drive in all kinds of traffic in Southern California.
