How long is the rod?** A: Hi Jente I have seen cheaper models sinse my purchase, the rod is approx' 2 foot long, depending on your fire / bbq you can fit a chkn or lamb leg on the skewer, it is stable enough, would advise cooking in oven first n bbq spit to finish, to be honest id pay a bit more for a bigger better one as I have a fire pit, as said a little over priced but as a battery operated spit it does what it says on the can! But you may not be able to fully close lid to rost chickens etc, but you can get round this by packing front of lid on small blocks. I changed my 3 burner gas bbg to a 5 burner that had provision for matching rotisserie. I use the original rotisserie alongside the new for smaller roasts and still have extra grilling space. It's great as a universal rotisserie. ### ⭐ Wast of money *by P***N on 3 September 2018* This item is far to flimsy to do the job it was intended for.
