I like this stuff. Works great and doesn't break the bank. I took 2 of my filters that had the sponges on the inside that you had to keep washing over and over. I replaced those with this. Tears down easily layer by layer, it's not that thick but it fluffs up when you tear it apart. Now instead of cleaning sponges, I just throw it out and replace it. Makes a huge difference in my tank, it looks MUCH clearer now. and I don't have to clean the nasty sponges anymore.

Great value for a filter. I'm using it for my airbrush booth so cutting in half gives me 2 filters for the price of one! It's a couple inches short front to back but still covers the vent grated so it should work out ok for protecting the fan. These do come vaccume sealed which means it will be very flat and thin when you open it. Took the advice of another review and popped it in the dryer for a few min. Fluffed it right up. There are still creases but perhaps if I left it in longer it would help.

FIRST, THE PICTURE MAKES THIS FILTER MATERIAL APPEAR AS THICK AND FLUFFY. IT IS DELIVERED COMPRESSED IN A VACUUM FLAT PLASTIC WRAPPER. THE INSTRUCTIONS INDICATE THREE METHODS WHICH THEY SAY WILL EXPAND THE MATERIAL TO ITS NORMAL THICKNESS. I TRIED A COUPLE OF THE METHODS; NEITHER OF WHICH WORKED. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS, WHEN I REMOVED THE MATERIAL FROM THE PLASTIC WRAPPER, IT SEEMED TO SHED A SLIGHTLY GRITTY SUBSTANCE. RINSING SEEMED TO REMOVE THE SUBSTANCE BUT I WORRY IF IT SHEDS INTO MY AQUARIUM, IT MIGHT BE HARMFUL TO THE FISH.

A lot smaller than I anticipated. It did its job and served the purpose it was intended for. Considering the price I shouldn’t complain as it is fairly good quality. I purchased this to surround a submersible pump for a duck pond filter and it definitely filled up quickly with pond muck. I did get a chance to clean it once and seemed to pretty much just rinse out. For the most part anyway. If buy a larger one in the future, but all in all pretty okay product.

Arrives a little creased but opening the packet 24 hours before you use it allows it to recover some of its Original uncompressed shape and thickness! Must less expensive than the filters for air cleaners.

It works for my 10 gallon barrow pond, but I think it won't do well for a big pond because it's not thick enough.

Using this to overwinter my KOI in a 75 gallon tank. This is working very well. I have to replace pads about every 3 or 4 days which is fine. Seems to trap all but the finest particulate. I would purchase it again.

Very economical, you just cut the amount you need and it can be rinsed and reused to boot..works as well as floss
