Please do not buy. Item does not work as intended and loses heat. Maybe it is just the one I received. I am not convinced this item is a quality item and suitable for professional use. Updating my review. Contrary to my first review. I am updating it as positive. The item works and works as intended. This is very useful for the DIY Electonics enthusiast to professionals. Operation is very simple and easy too.

Read all the negative reviews, found none of the problems, worked really well and meant I could fix my son’s Xbox controller stick drift. I used this sensibly, didn’t run it at its max temp until it failed, just what I needed. With flux to help mealy the solder and transfer to copper mesh. Stopped short of using it to resolder new component as I didn’t have any solder paste. It heated up quickly, was quiet and the cool down function kicked in as soon as I turned it off. Great device for the money. Just use sensibly and properly.

This heat gun is quite a nifty little unit. It has a cable that is quite short, about a meter long, so I would advise you to use an extension lead with it. When powered on, the screen blinks two dashes until you press the small green power button. When clicked, it heats up speedily, easily reaching 450 degrees in less than 30 seconds. You can even see the heater emitting a red glow from within the cutout! As for fan noise, it was pleasantly quiet for what it was. Mind you, I had it set on 5 out of 10 fan speed, which can be changed. Since the fan is small, it does get proper loud once you set it to a higher level. Its not that heavy either, making work with it slightly easier. The handle is easy to grip and hold onto, and does not heat up with the heater inside. The small green buttons allow you to change the temperature by increments of 1 when clicked, or speedily increase / decrease when held. This unit can go upto 500⁰C and a minimum of 100⁰C. The build quality could be better however, as it does seem to be plastic. Its not the cheap type of plastic, rather the thicker and heatproof kind, suitable for handling the heater inside i suppose. I feel the value for money is something I can't quite comment on, especially as this is my first heat gun. But so far, so good! It did what I needed it to do; it got hot enough to melt solder points on a circuit board. I rate it a 4 out of 5. 😊

Not tried to use for soldering yet but great for other projects where a controllable heat source is needed. Easy to use and has a safety orientated cool down process when turned off.

A great compact heat gun, the air flow is nice and gentle so doesn’t blow away your tiny components whilst removing or installing them and the adjustable heat is perfect for removing pretty much anything on a circuit board. Only gripe I have is that it doesn’t come in its own storage case (just arrived in it’s cardboard packaging) comes with a few nozzle attachments but I’ve only used the smaller one, All in all a great air gun to have that’s small and easy to use

Great for desoldering pcbs and also works well as adding direct heat to other things

Cheaply made and not worth the price for the quality when I've had other units for less that did better jobs than this. I'll be returning this ASAP, loose heat nozzle on the unit and the screws provided are worse than tin foil making it impossible to put on or take off without damaging the unit. Severely unimpressed

I managed to replace the hdmi port on my lads Xbox series s so it's already paid for itself. Take a while the melt the solder I'm guessing because it's cheap but got there in the end 👍🏻
