A great home UPS for providing power for limited power failures
I purchased this UPS to provide continued power for my fibre broadband ONT (my router is on a separate UPS), so that I have continued broadband for a limited amount of time and digital voice The UPS is well built, and has 6 UPS enabled outlets, along with 2 surge protected outlets and 2 USB outlets. For the UPS and surge protected outlets, they are standard UK plug types which is useful and is easier to connect domestic devices than many other UPS devices that typically power IT related equipment and have the common cloverleaf cable outlets The UPS seems to be of great quality and is easy to use, at it’s most basic level, plug in, power up, plug in devices and you’re ready to go. If used to provide power to desktops/laptops etc., a USB connection can also be used, along with some downloaded software to manage what happens if there’s a general power outage Overall, I believe this UBS to be very practical for a home user not looking just to connect IT equipment and in terms of the UPS products sold by my broadband/phone provider, BT, this is much more practical a product and provides much more functionality I would definitely recommend and I will be looking to purchase further units to provide power to other key items in my house Update: following a power outage as a local transformer blew up, I was without power for around 5 - 6 hours, during which time I had no problem in keeping my ONT alive as well as my backup 4G router, if my main BT router went offline (that’s served by a separate, much lower quality BT supplied UPS). For my purposes, a cannot recommend this UPS highly enough

Reliable Power Protection for Peace of Mind
I’ve been using the APC by Schneider Electric BACK-UPS for a few months now, and it has proven to be an excellent investment. The unit provides seamless power backup during outages, giving me enough time to save my work and safely power down my devices. It’s particularly useful in areas prone to sudden power interruptions. The setup was straightforward, and the build quality is solid and durable. I also appreciate the user-friendly interface and the helpful LED indicators, which make it easy to monitor its status. Another standout feature is the multiple outlets that accommodate both battery-backed and surge-protected devices, ensuring everything stays safe and operational. The peace of mind knowing my electronics are protected and my workflow isn’t disrupted is invaluable. APC by Schneider Electric has delivered a reliable, high-quality product, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for dependable power backup solutions.

Very good product as long as you understand the specification. Plug directly into wall socket.
An excellent UPS for protecting home or very small business IT systems. A tested and effective design giving good electrical protection to devices running from the battery plus surge protection and limited ability to charge mobile devices. Note that this size battery (850VA) won't keep full PC systems operating for long, but is ideal to allow graceful shutdowns and keeping routers running to maintain internet access via mobile devices (charged ideally by other means) during an extended power cut. The UPS works very well with recent Apple Macs - it is detected directly by MacOS as a UPS and needs no extra software. Easy and effective if you just want a safe and automatic way of powering down your Mac in the case of a power cut. In contrast, the provided Windows PowerChute software looks old-fashioned and is a little fiddly but is very powerful and useful. It gives detailed information on energy usage and UPS performance and therefore indicates how long the unit's battery would be expected to power your IT system for. This lets you decide how to respond to a powercut and manage any business risk. Follow the documentation (download the full manual) and in particular plug the UPS directly into a mains socket rather than through e.g. a smart plug or home-plug adapter. Test that the battery will fully charge before putting a load on it, and make sure you are familiar with the different warning lights and audio beeps. The batteries are easy to replace when they reach the end of their useful life - the unit gives a warning when it considers this the case. In summary, a good small-capacity UPS with quality software. As such, it is different from the many battery-based chargers for mobile devices or a mini 'powerstation' as advertised for camping or solar charging. Not better or worse, they just meet different needs.

Works with UGREEN NAS DXP 4800+
Couldn't find much info regards UPS and the UGREEN NAS DXP 4800+ So here it is: Bought the APC BACK-UPS ES - BE650G2-UK (£107 on 2025-07-15). Arrived, as new with a Leoch DJW12-9.0 battery. Was fully charged, or was reporting fully charged when it arrived. Did some quick tests with a lamp attached and all behaving as you would expect. Light stayed on if power was cut. Connected the NAS, attached the supplied cable - network plug into UPS and USB into the NAS. Booted the NAS and went to: Ugreen OS > Control Panel > Hardware & Power > UPS UPS was recognized as American Power Conversion Back-UPS BE650G2 FW497200G-497300G The Ugreen control panel also shoes the power capacity of the UPS. Useful. Set protection mode to Auto Shutdown. Set wait time to Minimum Value in custom time = 5 mins. Unplugged the UPS. the NAS detected the power out and reported it was shutting down in 5 mins. Which it did. UPS battery went from 97% to 88% in that time. other devices connected were 3 active External USB drives and a lamp. Reconnected power and restarted NAS. During boot, the lamp flashed, the NAS shutdown and the UPS power light flashed red for a second. Potentially overloaded? Unplugged lamp and tried again and NAS booted fine. Curious, I'm not sure I'm near the 400w limit with a NAS (with 3 HDDs and 2 NVMEs - NAS PSU is 150w), 3 external USBs HDDs (est 25w each) and a 7.5w lamp.... In my case - the UPS is only for the NAS. It will be the only thing plugged into it (maybe a router as well). So yes, this particular UPS works with the UGREEN NAS DXP 4800 plus. Other benefits - has a user swappable battery. From what I've read the batteries might only last a few years, so option to swap out for approx £30 instead of buying a new UPS is good. The UPS is a chunky. But has 8 sockets, 6 of them battery protected. Doesn't seem to make any noise (apart from beeps when power is out) - not fan noise etc. Haven't tested Powerchute control software etc - I'm not planning on connecting my PC to it. Screenshot attached of the UPS info in the UGREEN OS. 4 Stars - Expensive, especially with a limited life on the battery, but it is also overkill for my specific needs. But no other options seem to be available - Ideally a one plug NAS focused basic UPS for home use. Ugreen have something (ugreen 120w dc ups) but its not available outside China yet. The blip during boot also needs more investigation.

3 hours run time
3hrs run time with a router, modem and digital answerphone connected whilst constantly streaming music. Like many others I bought this to power my fibre router, modem and a digital phone connected to the router which has a seperate power supply. I live in a rural area with regular short power cuts. In addition our only mobile phone mast seems to go off as well if we have a power cut as its very close by. I wanted to keep a broadband signal so I could use my digital phone and mobile via wi fi calling in the event of a powercut. It arrived within 24hrs. You have to connect the battery which sparks slightly as it is almost fully charged. The instructions make it clear that this will happen. I tested it first by plugging a lamp in then turning off the power to the UPS. The lamp stayed on with barely a flicker. Having left it on charge for 24hrs, as per instructions, I connected my router etc. then turned the power to the UPS off. The router didnt even blink and I was streaming music at the time which was not interrupted. I then timed how long it took for my music to stop indicating no more broadband and a flat battery. It was 3hrs and 3 minutes. If I hadnt been actively using the internet at the time it may have been a little longer. So there you have it. 3 hrs which is more than enough for my needs. I have used the spare sockets for my computer and monitors in the unlikely event that I am using them when the power goes off. The unit didnt get hot and other than the beep to indicate it was in use it ran silently. You can of course disable the beep. Very happy with this unit.

Very useful and works well. Recommend.
Kicks in instantly on power cut and beeps to let you know. Keeps my router and mobile running for 4-5 hours which is useful as we have no mobile signal and the “brains” have abolished analog landlines - so WiFi calling is our only comms.

Source of emergency power for router and telephone
I have had no other experience of a UPS. I needed one to provide digital voice backup in the event of a power cut and the Broadband Battery Backup provided by my ISP was not compatible with the ISP's router and could not support a telephone base station either. This unit looks to be well built and could provide up to 90 mins battery life to the ONT, Router and Telephone Base Station. After just one week all seems to be working well.

Excellent value and a must-have if you run a file server
This is an excellent product, as expected from APC. Comes with the USB cable to connect to your computer. I connected it to my NAS, and also have my router, and fibre connection connected to it. So on a power failure, I won't lose Internet connectivity. My NAS is a home built Fedora server that also serves as my router and Web server - the ISP router is used as a guest router and for untrusted devices like the TV. I had to install apcupsd, but once installed, it pretty much Just Works(TM). No special configuration required. Tested it by pulling out the power, and everything worked - Internet connectivity stayed on, server noticed, logged it, and carried on. With the current load, it shows me a 52 minute runtime on a fully charged battery - which is fantastic! Really pleased with this ups.

Funziona bene
