I've been using this electric water kettle for over a year and still works great. You can set the exact temp you want and it looks stylish too.

This is a pot for someone who aims for making tea as an Experience: it’s elegant, the controls are good, and the built-in timer is a nice touch. However, for making tea in the morning while doing ten other things, it didn’t work. The volume turned out to be so small that I could only get one mug per boil, and there’s no way to set the timer to get your attention after a certain time, so you have to be paying attention. (Also, there’s no divider between minutes and seconds - it threw me off a few times before I realized that “120” on the timer meant one minute and twenty seconds, rather than one hundred twenty seconds!) Overall, if you’re treating making tea (or coffee!) as a meditative relaxation experience, it’s a wonderful pot. If you prefer your drinks in bulk or are doing five other things at the same time, then it’s not so useful.

We'll see if it holds up long term. The four-year add-on warranty was fairly cheap so I went ahead and did it since these kinds of things lasting longer than a couple years is rare these days. That being said, past month with it has been great. It quickly and accurately heats water to 96C, which I use for French press coffee prep. Similarly, I set it to 70C for a water bath around my milk frother to get that ready while the coffee is brewing, and still come out with plenty of time left on the brew clock because of how quick it is. One word of caution: if you use temperature hold, the empty detection does not always work reliably if you've just poured out the last drop, because the thermometer is still hot. This may keep heat applied when it shouldn't. Honestly the thing heats water so fast I have no idea why you'd even use temp hold, so maybe better off not, however, if you also like to switch to Celsius, you may find that you accidentally enable temp hold. See further down for info on that. The manual is garbage. It calls the buttons by incorrect names, and shows incorrect symbols; for example, the power button symbol is used when describing the temp hold button. It also doesn't bother to tell you how to switch it from the default Fahrenheit to Celsius. For reference, that's done by simultaneously pressing the two buttons to the left of the display, which are Temp Hold and Minus. The problem is it has to truly be exactly at the same time; if you hit either button even a fraction of a second sooner, you'll enable temp hold or decrease the set temp instead, and now you may have heat applied when you didn't intend to if it was the temp hold button that activated. After a bit of practice I don't get it wrong as much anymore, but it still happens once a week.

10/10 This kettle heats water to over 200 degrees in seconds. Bought to replace other coffee makers and plastic pods. Use cloth steeping bags (think tea bags) with coffee of preference. Cleaner, safer, easy to use. @hostdownsouth
