XPETI Men's Basin Approach Shoes

Extremely comfortable, they look amazing, and the price is incredible. Just bought a second pair in a different color.

Not like name brand approach shoes! I have worn approach shoes from Arcteryx and Asolo and they have bullet proof soles and you feel like a mountain goat. XPETI has a softer shank and you can feel every root and big rock, these won't replace my other hiking shoes. But the fit is great, lots of room in the toe box, very comfortable and look awesome. They seem to be well built and have excellent traction even on wet surfaces. While not true approach shoes in my opinion (hence 4 stars), these are great for daily use on well traveled paths and around town. Great shoe for the price.

What a great pair of shoes and a value to boot! Right out of the box they've been comfortable and roomy in the toe box. The shoes have a great look and are made of quality materials. I definitely recommend this shoe if you need a shoe thats functional, attractive and priced for value.

Got them in today, very comfortable, gives you a lot of traction for rocky terrain. These shoes can be worn on a hike as you approach rocks. you’ll need this flat footed design if you're looking to traverse slippery surfaces. Plenty of room in the toe area, they lace up tight. Very comfortable shoe, every step is cushioned, I highly recommend these if you appreciate a good quality, comfortable, shoe. I’m a nine U.S., so to me, a perfect fit. Down side to these comfortable shoes, even though they’re great for hiking in all terrains. Not a tremendous amount of arch support if you plan on carrying any weight on your back for an extended period of time.

The shoes look good, they have a substantial insole. They are a bit narrow for my wide feet in the toe box . My main issue is the outsole, way too flexible for me. I have flat feet so I need a supportive firm footbed. These are more feel like moccasins. If you’re looking for a casual shoe these should work. For hiking or long walks not so sure. I returned the shoes.

I think these look great and have a good feel. I don’t think these are hiking shoes, and they have little support. I think they are bit narrow, but fit me fine. However, if you like a wider toe box like Keen, these may be a bit tight. For me having less support and cushioning isn’t important as I plan on wearing them out and about, not for hiking. They’re lightweight and the price is really nice. I ordered a second pair in a different color.

These came true to size and comfy right out of the box. Soon as they went on, I had an "ahhhhh" moment because they fit like a glove, perfect size, I can't complain about these. Can't speak to how they are actually hiking in them because I won't be hiking in them or approaching, whatever that is, but for daily wear they have been one of my favorite pairs of shoes. Definitely will consider buying again when I need a new pair.
