It was a reasonable size, but it didn't feel like 24L. The outside shove pocket wasn't really big enough. The two water bottle pockets were big enough for a 1L nalgene, but most just big enough - they fit, but it wasn't like they were super secure. The small very front pocket was really difficult to open since the zipper rain flap was super tight. The main pockets were fine, and I like the idea of putting stuff higher up in the bag (there's a small high-up pocket in the main compartment), but then it's too top-heavy. And no chest strap or waist strap. You are paying for quality and get it, from its thoughtful design to the sturdy construction and ultra-tight stitching. I find its clean lines and understated dark blue color scheme quite stylish. There are pockets and pouches galore, including dual mesh bottle holders on the outside, and a bunch more in the two main zippered pockets. It seals up tight and looks and feels like it can shield the contents from all types of weather. It is well padded for the comfort of the wearer, as well as for protecting laptops, tablets, hard drives, and whatever else you decide to stuff inside. It also has a smaller front pocket and a body length opening for quick access items.The Trilogy will fit up to a 15-inch laptop, and quite a bit more. I took it with me when I hit the bike trails with my wife this weekend, and included large water bottles, towels, and other personal effects. Despite the contents, it felt light and rode easily across my shoulders thanks to the contoured straps. I also stayed cool because of the neat mesh fabric used on the back. This is the perfect day-pack because it isn't too large but it can still carry a substantial amount.
