Are the compass and thermometer features accurate?

Within reason, keep it level for compass. Thermometer depends on temperature fluctuation.

Does the compass light up

Yes, face lights up on compass as well as on the other features. BUT, the face lights up only very momentarily. The only feature that I don't like about the watch.
