It tool a while to complete and he did quite well building it.
We gave this to our nephew for Christmas 2025, and by August when we visited he brought it out and showed us. It was a large project, but it was also great stuff. It’s Lego and well built, will last for a long time. He was quite proud of the work.

Fun to build
Fun to build, went together nicely. My 7 year old loves building these. Definitely recommend to do with the kiddos!

Enjoyable build
Mostly a good kit. Lots of small details and things fit together well. The parts are packaged in numbered bags making it easier to find the parts you need. The only problem I had with the model is that the tender axles are too short and the wheels sit between the tracks so the engine and tender don't line up.

Missing pieces
I purchased this for my son who loves trains and Legos. He started to put it together but there is a piece missing. Since I purchased before his birthday my window closed to exchange or return. Ugh!!! He was so excited to put it together.
