Paper Potter
My daughter first found this book at a well-known science fiction/fantasy store, and I had to try really hard to keep her from spending all her precious pocket money. These pop-up books are quite expensive after all. Eventually we got it for her birthday, for a slightly better online price. This really made the birthday. I already have a small collection of modern and vintage Star Wars Books. And in particular these massive cardboard pop-up books are excellent created by Matthew Reinhart are excellent. It’s truly the summit of paper-art and simply brilliant. It’s really nice to go through them with the children, their cousins/ friends or anyone with a remote interest in Harry Potter. It’s just full of surprises and overflowing with details. Though the accompanying texts to the scenes are not really adding much to those with knowledge of the books and movies. . As a book it reads nicely, its has essentially 5 major scenes, but each has little folds that reveal more characters and additional scenes. It is quite interactive (though somewhat fragile) with levers. And then the pop up book can be folded out carefully to create a giant 3D diorama. This book will not only look nice on your coffee table, it will probably need every inch - in fact, you’ll probably need 2 or 3 coffee tables to fold out the whole 3D diorama. Given the delicate nature of such books you do want assist young Potter enthusiasts when browsing through it. But if you manage to keep it tidy this impressive hugely entertaining book will draw family and friends interest for decades to come.

Very clever, lovely detail, needs careful handling.
Bought this for my daughter’s 11th birthday. I’m glad I read other reviews beforehand as I agree that the pictures are quite dark, and it’s difficult to see the detail through the windows. Also opening the book out into the full scene was difficult. You need to push the tabs carefully out, rather than just pulling the pages apart as they would definitely rip. However, there is so much amazing detail to discover! My daughter used a torch to see the darker areas and loves exploring behind the walls and doors. It’s definitely a book to treasure and show off to friends. I don’t think I would have paid £50 for it but I’m glad to have paid £22. Worth every penny and my daughter thinks it’s the best book she’s ever owned.

Excellent value for money and lots of fun with a torch!
Use a small torch to 'discover' items in the Forbidden Forrest and peep through the windows - our family love this! Not for small hands though - not really a toy, but treated carefully it will last for years. Just don't forget it's made of paper! A craft like this is wonderful. The incredible details to discover are wonderful for children and adults of all ages!

Gorgeous
Last Christmas my youngest granddaughter received the pop up Paddington 2 book which was beautifully made and done with great style. She loves it and we read it again the other day. This Harry Potter book, for my eldest granddaughter this year, is in the same mould. Beautifully produced, the pop ups are stunning. There is Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, the Forest amongst others and the craftsmanship that has gone into their making is terrific. The book also opens out into a large map - I am mentioning this as I have not opened it yet. I am leaving that for Christmas Day. A gorgeous book and every Harry Potter fan will love it

Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Guide to Hogwarts
Harry Pottter: A Pop-Up Guide to Hogwarts is exactly what it sounds like, an interactive 3D pop-up model of Hogwarts Castle as well as locations like the Quidditch pitch, the Forbidden Forest and even part of Hogsmead Village. There are five large models that can be opened separately or if you're very careful you can fold out the entire book into one huge map. Although it was fun to open the book out fully once I found that when you've done that it's so big that you can't really appreciate all of the little details so I actually prefer to look at the models separately so I can fully enjoy what I'm seeing. This is the kind of book that you never get tired of because there are just so many little hidden doors and windows to open, additional pull tabs that bring out new pop-ups or move characters around etc, that every time you look at a page you find your eyes drawn to a new detail that you didn't spot before. Honestly, the amount of detail is insane and if you have a torch on hand for looking inside the models you'll find even more. Spot Hagrid baking rock cakes in his house or Harry and his friends having a Herbology lesson in the greenhouse, you can even help Harry catching a golden snitch on the Quidditch pitch! This book isn't cheap so I was hesitant to make the purchase at full price but it was well worth the money when I found it going cheap on Amazon. As lovely as it is I still think it's over priced at £50 but for around £20 I think Harry Potter fans will be very happy with it. I found it really difficult to take decent pics of the pop-ups but hopefully these photos should give you some idea of the amount of detail included

Brilliant pop up book
I love this. This will be a gift that I am sure will be very well received. The pop ups are brilliant. Lots on each page and when I was checking it I found that it opens out fully. I can't wait to give it and see the excitement it will bring. Printed well.

As a fan of origami & pop ups and someone who create paper crafts as well, I found this cleverly & beautifully made! I love everything about this~ I create pop up cards & 3d cutouts myself, so I understand that creating paper crafts like this that had to be fold close sometimes it will need a little bit of help when opening back up. This is an art made to be taken home and prop up w/o the artist or creator~ So for me having to refold or to straighten some parts is nothing, I still find it beautiful nonetheless (This is what I hoped people would understand). It is very wonderfully made, there are even parts you can peek through inside. The mini pop ups are just as awesome~!! My fave is the Padfoot and Marauder’s map pop up, those are very cleverly made, love it!! And another thing I like about it is you can spread the whole thing!😍 The tabs are quite difficult to take off though~ Although this could be great for kids, I think it will live longer with collectors as some of it are quite fragile when opening. Maybe you can show it to kids then have an adult keep it at other times 😅
