I've been playing guitar for over 60 years, but this is my first multi-effects and amp sim pedal. This will replace most of what I have on a pedal-board I have refined over the years. A friend let me try out his GE 150 Pro li - I was very impressed. The only downside of that one (for me) was having to press two foot-switches at the same time for some of the functions. This Max version eliminates that - separate foot-switches for scrolling up and down for the effects blocks and tuning. While the Pro version would have worked, this is even easier to use while playing. A tip for any Mooer multi-effects buyer: download the software that allows you to customize the amp sims and effects on your computer - MUCH faster than using the two buttons on the unit... and then remember to "Save" those changes before moving onto the next amp sim. OK, another tip: you can set up the outputs on the back of the unit to run a 1/4" cable into a PA or other flat response speaker, or us the other output to pass-thru the cab sim when going into an amp. Nice feature! The box seems like it will hold up to regular use. I am a fan of the model with the built-in lithium battery (the "li" model) - it eliminates a power cable when playing. The manufacturer says 9 hours of battery life, and that seems to line up with my experience. The built-in tuner is OK, but doesn't hold the image for more than a second or so. You can set it up to mute while tuning or have the sound "pass through" (although I can't imagine why you'd want to do that). There are a couple things you can set up globally, which applies that feature to all the amp sims. The foot pedal at the right side is pretty basic, but you can set it up as a volume pedal or to "sweep in" some of the effects. The pedal-board is well-packed in the box, arrived intact.
