I recently upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which now features a USB C port. Excited to create a versatile rig for my device, I began my journey by investing in a cage. The Smallrig Quick Release Cage immediately caught my attention, and for good reason – the quick release feature. Fumbling with clamps has always been a hassle for me, especially with my less-than-nimble fingers. The limited options for such cages led me to Smallrig, a brand known for its reliability, and I'm pleased to say it lived up to its reputation. Upon unboxing, the Smallrig Quick Release Cage impressed me with its solid feel and build quality. The inclusion of four shoes for attachments met my needs, and I particularly appreciated the quick-release handles, which I plan to add to my setup. The thoughtful inclusion of an adapter for non-Magsafe phones was a nice touch. Placing my iPhone into the cage resulted in a secure and solid connection. The rig instantly improved the handling of my device, and I easily mounted it on a nearby tripod using the quick and efficient mount. While the USB connector was a bit snug with the rig, I anticipate resolving this with a 180-degree adapter for a more comfortable fit – a minor consideration that won't deter me from enhancing my setup. Removing the iPhone was a breeze, and I foresee it becoming more complex as I expand my rig. My plan includes attaching an external battery, handles, light, hard drive, and USB hub. As I progress, I'll continue to update my experience. The Smallrig cage, a cost-effective investment, has set a strong foundation for my rig, and I'm eager to see the final result. I highly recommend it, especially for Magsafe phone users.

Excellent Quality and Perfect for Content Creators! This SMALLRIG video rig kit is fantastic! The build quality is solid and professional, and it’s easy to set up with all the accessories included — LED light, microphone, tripod, and power bank holder. It makes filming, vlogging, and live streaming so much easier and more stable. Everything fits securely, and the quick release system is super convenient. Definitely worth it for anyone serious about mobile video!

For the price a nice cage but with two design flaws that somewhat dull its potential. First the MagSafe is not very strong so while it would be ok for static use (but then why would you need a cage) anything gun and run you'll want to use the clamp. Second and this is a real miss for me is the back is not flat so you can't add a MagSafe battery or hard drive so that part is wasted. As ever it's well built but you'd expect nothing less from SmallRig

Great Item - Really flexible in what it can do. Remote works really well for shooting and works with most Android Devices. Can remove the clip holder and use Magsafe accessorises. Really strong magnets. Easy to use and setup. Needs better instructions though... Highly Rated - Although the price does fluctuate quite a lot and you can regularly get it for less then you might at full price. 10% off, £15 off etc

Likes: 1. It's easy to snap a magsafe iphone into the frame and remove it as required 2. Build quality is good 3. It's better value for money than a custom frame I was using before that only fitted one type of phone 4. The design gives plenty of attachment points for handles, a second display, microphone etc 5. It integrates well with other smallrig items or anything with a 1/4 inch thread attachment

Bought this rig as due to illness I my hands tremble and I can’t hold my phone properly or safely to take photos or videos anymore. With this rig I can safely grip my phone and not have to worry about dropping it and damaging it

Love this mount for filming with my iPhone 16 Pro Max, makes it much easier to hold steady and shoot. Really well made and robust yet lightweight. The removable grip button for activating the phone is also really helpful.

I have to say I’m really impressed with this frame, I purchased it to use in the parks around Orlando. Initially concerned about how the iPhone 16 would hold in place soon evaporated its rock solid. The control the frame gives over just holding the phone is amazing, recording video or stills and the flexibility to move the handles from portrait to landscape is really useful. Expensive but well worth the investment.

Wasn't sure that if I was going to like this product or not, but I have to admit I am quite surprised. I got this to try to start building out a rig for my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. For those who have this phone, know that it is hard to find just about anything built specifically for it. The whole reason for me to move to SmallRig was that Moment is no longer supporting Pixel phones so I was taking a big gamble on this to work. This paired with the SMALLRIG 67mm Threaded Filter Adapter with Detachable Sun Hoods, powerbank clamp, and USB 4-in-1 hub is a great starter build for Pixel users so long as you get an unsued set. (Look for my review on that filter adapter if Amazon allows it to post.) ***** NOTE: IF YOU ARE A PIXEL USER AND WILL BE USING THE SMALLRIG 67mm Threaded Filter Adapter with Detachable Sun Hoods, YOU WILL HAVE TO USE THE CAGE'S CLAMP WHICH MEANS THE MAGNETS WILL NOT LINE UP BETWEEN THE CLAMP AND YOUR PHONE. THIS MEANS YOU ARE 100% RELIANT ON THE CLAMP ITSELF TO HOLD THE PHONE. You will more than likely have to use the Samsung hood. This will still leave a bit of a gap between the phone and lens. Whether you use the clamp or just use the magnets, it should fit and stay securely. See pics.***** If you can deal with that then this is the rig for you. The SmallRig 4-in-1 USB-C Hub with a Cold Shoe Mount and power bank clamp allows me to use my Hollyland Lark M2 Wireless Lavalier Microphones, power bank, light, or even connect my Zoom F3 so I can use either a shotgun or my clippies with my rig! The quick snap handles with remote trigger is a huge plus and makes both taking stills and videos easier. Last in case if you are wondering, with my phone case on and whether using the clamp or not, it did pass my shake test. Phone stayed on the maget or clamp without any movement or falling off. If you are a Pixel user this is probably the best out there for the money and versatility.
