Offering a wide variety of foods is a big part of the cats diet here at camp kitty, but having as many cats as we do each with their own likes and dislikes, it’s nice to find a product they will all eat regularly. These turkey entree patties are the first ones we’ve tried and it’s been great. We’re curious about trying the others like the chicken ones. The smell wasn’t off putting at all, even after rehydrating. I would describe it like an earthy smell. The size of the patties is a perfect portion for our heard of cats and the texture is the perfect in between. Hard enough that they mostly kept their shape but soft enough to easily break down with your hands before rehydrating. We can definitely tell some of our kitties love the taste more than others, but everyone’s definitely given it a try. I think the quality is pretty decent, although I did find some hard bits at times when breaking down the patty. But none of the bits have been sharp or concerning, they seem normal considering what the product is. Overall we’re happy with these freeze dried patties and excited to try the chicken ones. We greatly appreciate the brands transparency on everything like manufacturing and sourcing, and that the information wasn't hard to find. That’s really something we appreciate a lot with the Vital Essentials brand. Definitely give this product a try especially if you’ve got some poultry loving kitties like we do! If you’ve only got 1-2 cats give the smaller size bag a try first, but for our 7+ kitty crew we needed the biggest bag and it lasted us about 3 weeks. This product is not the only thing we feed them but we’ve been feeding it daily. I would say 1-2 patties a day between all of them plus several other foods. We’ve not seen any negative effects from incorporating it into their diet this regularly. This will likely become a good staple product we purchase often for them.

Great raw product. This is a staple item for my cat’s diet. I always buy this brand - and the second time since they changed the patty size to “mini patties” that I’ve purchased this. Previously I purchased the full-sized patties many times over the last 4-5 years. This is the first time I have received such a damaged product - where all the patties have been smashed and crushed. My picky cat loves the patties because she likes to pick up the patties and play with it while eating - and never eats the crumbs. Usually it is not an issue, but as you can see, there is about 1/6th of the volume of the bag which is all fine powder - and the rest are broken and crumble at the touch. What happened? I would love for Vital Essentials to reimburse me for this purchase.

Something wrong with this turkey. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor(whos a garbage disposal) wouldnt even entertain trying it "as is" out the bag OR rehydrated. Outdoor guy walked back over to it several times to tentatively sniff but wouldnt get closer than that. Going to contact the company for a refund since Amazon wont allow a return.

For the last 4 or 5 years our cats have lost interest in several varieties of canned cat food they’d eaten for years (change in formulas?). When one got really sick we tried lots of new things to get him eating again. The turkey patties were a hit, but we had a hoard of other cat food, thanks to Covid, so this got put aside when he recovered. Recently one of our other kitty boys, who wasn’t crazy about his canned food at breakfast or dinner, crept into the pantry and found the turkey patties, then pretty much destroyed the bag to get at them. They must’ve smelled great cuz he’d never gotten to try them before. I crumble the patties, removing any suspect pieces that might be bone shards, and mix with water since our boys have been used to wet food and so don’t usually drink much water. They obviously love the taste and gobble this stuff, trying to get at it before I add water. They’d prefer to eat it dry but they don’t get that option since I worry they won’t drink enough. Ordered more today to add in the rotation and will consider using much more often for the quality ingredients and lack of nonsense filler, and it obviously makes the boys happy. It’s not cheap, but what is these days?

I have 3 cats , they all love it! Just a little too hard to chew, but also can soak in water make it softer !

First of all the cat enjoys the product. The reason for only 3 stars is that the product comes in large shape about 2" x 2" and needs to be broken up into much smaller pieces. Maybe some cats can pick a large piece apart on their own however mine would struggle with that and she would make herself sick eating the whole amount. I've bought many items from Vital Essentials, and most stuff is great. This one not my favorite.

My cats Love these turkey mini patties. They love fresh turkey too. But this is a much more convenient way to give them that taste they crave. They are shelf stable and can be broken into pieces to give as a treat. They have never given my cats stomach issues. And they are a great value considering the quality.

Cats are finicky. Thye walk away from wet food that they like for no reason. I have found that if my cat refuses to eat his wet food, I break a quarter patty off of one of these and crush it to powder and sprinkle on top of the food and he destroys the food. Matter of fact, he has a way of asking me specifically for this stuff. It’s not cheap, but it will extend the rest of your food budget because you’ll be throwing out a lot less quantity. I keep it on hand Religiously.
