I wish the vest was bigger. I'm a thin guy and not overweight what-so-ever, so I can't imagine someone bigger even attempting to try the vest on. I went according to my waste size, so I know that if I had ordered the large, the pants would have been too big. Overall, I would still recommend buying this because it's a well made costume compared to some of the other cheaper varieties I've seen. Money well spent! I did order another hat that was better quality, but the one that comes with it is sufficient enough. Absolutely true to size. 5'11" 193 with about a 37" waist and the large was perfect. I couldn't believe how nice the material was and the detailed gold braid and buttons and the stitching is wonderful. The only thing we didn't like was the hat but we ordered a bull fighters sombrero in red and it is perfect. All you need to add are the white shirt and tie, shoes and white socks. The fit was amazing! Couldn't be more pleased with this. We are going to a Halloween party as a matador and spanish dancer.
