Haven't used this yet as I am awaiting my grandson coming down so he can help he's six and excited to see what happens with them. The magnifying glass will have him watching for.life from the time he drops them in the water until he goes to bed

They do hatch be patient
I think this is quite good for kids I did ours quickly with normal tap water and airiated the water regularly after a few days nothing had happened so I put a bit of bottled water in and to our surprise we had baby's although I think they are dying there is always new babys every day doubt they will last long but kids enjoyed it
