ThinkPsych Real People Picture Cards - 150 Body Parts, Emotions, and Verbs

So many cards are a great option for parents-geared toward kids for learning about emotions. We have a son with autism and he recognized and talked when he saw several of the faces. The cards show diversity too and the photos are easy to understand so that we can create conversation about them, or just let the kids play with them . So many uses for them as flashcards are to use one at a time as a conversation starter. There is great variety and easy to transport to go to a restaurant or just keep them in the car.

I use these with my neice who will be turning 2 in January and she has interest in them. I appreciate flashcards that have real people, and real objects to cartoons because it gives her a real life representation. I did like that there were 2 of each card because i could show her the word side and the image of the word at the same time to help familiarize her with the word and letters in the word. I feel like some of the emotions since they are so similar are a little too difficult for her to grasp but I understand that this is not advertised for an audience this age. I liked how they did attempt to have a diverse range of people who posed for the cards and would love if they were able to make it even more diverse in the sense of people who have tattoos possibly or colorful hair, or people with disabilities because I feel like it could help bring more empathy towards others that might not always look like you. And while there isn't anything wrong with kids or adults being curious and cautious about individuals who may not fit the traditional individual I think that showing children that people exist of all different sorts then being introduced to it for the first time. I feel like some of the actions maybe should have been skipped for instance catch because they are on the harder side to capture in a still image. The only thing that bothered me was that they advertised them as emotions when some of the flashcards are emotions but some of them are feelings and while they are similar they aren't the same.

These are simply awesome teaching flash cards. The emotions and body parts have multiple examples of each one. For example, if the image is hand, you may have an adult hand and a kid's hand. There's variation among gender and even skin tone to help learners generalize what they're seeing across targets. The cards themselves are thick, small card stock items that I feel are pretty durable provided you don't get them wet. What's depicted on each card is clearly printed on the back, making them easy to use a training tool. Overall I think this product has immense value as a teaching tool.

These Real People flash cards are an incredible resource, especially for children with autism. As many reviews have mentioned, the use of real people instead of drawings or cartoons makes a significant difference in learning and recognition. My son, who has autism, has been using these to better understand emotions and body parts, particularly the more complex emotional responses that don’t always come naturally to him.The real-life representation is key—it helps him make connections in a way that feels more natural and applicable to everyday interactions. The quality of the cards is excellent, and they are durable enough for frequent use.These would make a fantastic gift for a BCBA, special education teacher, or any parent working to support their child’s learning and development. I really like these. They are thick, sturdy and the pictures are good. I also think it's a good idea to have two pictures of each thing since that helps reinforce the correct thing. What I wish is that the cards would be a little bigger, but no worries, they're not tiny, just a little smaller than the usual flash cards. The biggest perk, I think is the case that the cards come in. Sturdy box!

I ordered these to use with my ESL kindergartner I'm working with.What I like about this product is the quality of the cards and images. The everyday words are also practical and useful.However, I was disappointed to realize that the Spanish word was not also imprinted somewhere to ensure the person learning English knows precisely what we are referring to.Most of the pictures are explicit, focusing on the subject or using arrows for clarity, but I feel having both languages represented would ensure 100% understanding of the word being taught.

These cards are good quality. The are thick and sturdy, and I love that there are two picture for every concept. My only complaint (and it’s minor!) is the box. I don’t know why they didn’t just create a box where you didn’t have to split up the categories (see last picture). I can live with it, it’s just a silly design.

These ThinkPsych Flashcards for Action Words, Body Parts and Emotions are quality cards of good thickness and clear photographs. When you first open the box, the Quick Start Guide is the first thing you see. If you open the card, there are four different games described to help children learn new words. I like that the pictures show a variety of ages and races. I think some emotions are hard to guess from the pictures, and they do have two different pictures for each emotion because not everyone's face looks the same for the same emotion. These cards can be used for discussion about why a facial expression portrays an emotion, eg wide eyes, furrowed brow, open mouth, etc. While body parts and actions may be learned by rote, emotions need to be taught differently. Two or three cards can be offered and the child can be asked, "Which looks the most like sad?" or "If someone had a toy taken away, which might their face look like? What would they be feeling?"

This set of cards was absolutely wonderful for my kindergarten students this year. I have both neurotypical and students with autism in my class and these cards are fantastic for everyone. Helping to identify emotions is a very important skill for all children to learn in the early years. Having students with autism being able to be exposed to these cards in a fun and interesting way helps in their development of languange and connections as well.The cards feature body parts, emotions and actions and are very helpfully organized in the box with tabs to sort the cards, so that you can find the ones you need and put them back in the correct spot. There are 150 cards with 2 cards for each word, so 75 different words and terms that are featured. The cards are a nice quality as well, and my favourite part is that they feature real world pictures with diverse people, which makes them more appealing to children and allows them to see themselves in the cards and make connections to their own learning.Overall this is a perfect set of cards for young learners and is also perfect for any early years setting or kindergarten classroom. A great buy!

While we haven't had a very long time to work with these cards, I can say that my nephew seems far more interested in these ones versus the ones with cartoony artificial looking images on them.We are still trying to determine whether my nephew is displaying developmental issues or behavioral issues, but he's been very distant when it comes to learning and trying to speak. These cards peaked his interest and got him making more noises than he normally does when trying to learn. The imagery is very clear and the cards themselves are very simple so they don't cause an overwhelming sensation for him.We'll see how it goes, but so far based off of his interaction levels, I can confirm that these are more effective than the other ones we've used.

I'm a kindergarten teacher and I really like these cards. I don't think they are necessarily only for special needs kids or students to help them with speech therapy, although I could definitely see these cards as helpful for those student populations as well. However, for my kindergarten students, I find that that photographs of real faces and real people is really helpful as opposed to just showing them pictures of drawings or cartoons.The cards are relatively durable. There are 150 double-sided cards with the front having the photo and the back have the word. I like the variety of games that are introduced and my students do enjoy playing wtih these cards. However, some of the emotions were a little difficult to figure out, but as a way to introduce that emotion or feeling, I think these cards were a great starting point!
