Perfect for target identification without excessive splash or blinding backwash. It’s ideal for both home defense and concealed carry. Build quality is what you'd expect from Streamlight: rugged, dependable, and built to take a beating. The controls are intuitive, especially with the ambidextrous paddles. Activation is smooth and responsive, even under stress. It also fits snugly and securely on my rail with zero wobble. Battery access is easy (no need to remove the light from the gun), and runtime is solid considering the high output. Hands down one of the best additions for your 43X or 48, next ammo and a red dot. This little light is seriously bright. Streamlight has nailed it, bumping this up to 1000 lumens from the old TLR-7 Subs 500 lumens. Comes with both high and low switches.... personally i prefer the high ones. Light was a little tricky to install on the pistol at first but it finally popped into the notch on the pistols rail and then was easily tightened down. It locks into place very well. Sits on my 43X perfectly. Battery is easy to install and remove thru the front of the light body by remove the lense. Light doesn't really add much weight really. When it's in the holster on your belt you really don't notice the extra weight of the light. Light works flawlessly out of the box. Streamlight nailed it with this light.

Despite its small footprint, the light output is remarkably bright-easily outperforming my previous flashlights. The battery life, which has lasted impressively long even with frequent use. I upgraded from the original TLR-7 Sub to the HL-X. It's substantial difference and I'm glad I made the upgrade, while also fitting the same holster. Never had any issues with Streamlight products.
