After a flood, I couldn’t cut out carpet with my box cutter. I bought this because of the reviews and it did the job very well. Ripped right through my carpet!

I have no expectations of making a career of relaying or stretching carpet, so an inexpensive but well-made tool was important - and that is just what I received. The cutting blades are very sharp, but require more skill than I possess in using them to cut straight lines. They cannot be left accessible while using the "tucking" end, since you much apply considerable pressure at times on the blade end to get the carpet under the molding. The tucking end is shaded perfectly for its intended use. I was grateful many times for its well-designed shape (the rounded/tapered curve and the pointed end). If I could have justified the cost of the broadly-shaped chisel tool that you whacked with a hammer, I would have done less finessing and more whacking. This metal tool, though, is high quality and a sound value.

Overall good for the work but the blade became dull after being used on half of a larger room, and had to replace it. The tool came with 3 blades so I could continue. Good price for job. The jam tool end works great!

I bought this based on the only other review here, and held my breath, hoping for the best. I had to cut up about 230 square feet of carpeting, and good scissors and box cutters were not working. THIS CARPET TOOL WORKS. It is absolutely amazing, and cut through the carpet easily, although the padding was more difficult because it is soft. I had to change the blade once (two or three come with the tool and are hidden in the handle), so if you have a lot of carpeting to cut up, you may want to stock up on spare blades. Highly recommend this.

Great knife for a carpet man

I used to cut the carpet on a recent remodel for a bathroom and it worked great. I then used to cut surplus carpet for my dogs doghouse. I used to struggle with scissors, but this does the work in 1/10 the time. I would recommend to wear cut resistant gloves as it could do some serious damage to your skin. I would recommend this product.

Good for pros… amateurs beware, Spikes could rip carpet off.

As a carpet fitter this knife is a great idea and buy but let down. The build quality is cheaply made and the two half's of the knife do not interloc so its only held together by the thumb screw and no matter how tight its done up there is movement between the two half's while using it which I find annoying.

This tool is the best! I used it to remove a 50 year old carpets with old hessian backing underneath. BE WARNED! VERY SHARP. Keep this away from children and ensure you hold it properly. You can get spare blades from your local hardware store!'

Great Tool, not to large and not too small. Making very short work of helping me remove carpet from a number of rooms.
