Cuisinart CSB-179 Smart Stick Variable Speed Hand Blender, Stainless Steel

I’ve had this stick blender and the accessories for a couple of years now. It is great! The blender has a multi speed adjustment, making it easy to start a blend at a low speed to mitigate any mess, and ending in a high speed blend that assures complete purée. The safety switch is now activated by the index finger in line with third finger activation of the blender button. This is much more natural and comfortable than the old safety switch on top of the stick. Accessories include a blender cup, chopper, and whipping attachment. Like most blender cups, this one is sturdy plastic and makes it easy to blend small amounts. It’s. Terrific container for making mayonnaise. The chopper is activated by the stick and does a fine job as.l a mini food processor. This is a great quality item, and well with the price.

My 2-speed Cuisinart blender finally, after YEARS, quit working. I opted to replace it with this variable speed unit, even thought historically I didn't think I'd use all of the attachments. Yes, I understand the complaint about having to press the two buttons (the safety feature) to start it. Not a big deal. (My old one was the same... so it isn't a brand new feature as some have commented.) Once it starts you can press just the one power button. It keeps going UNTIL YOU LIFT IT UP. I'm guessing that is the safety feature... and you then don't spray food all over the wall. :) I made chicken liver pate, and while holding it with one hand, moved the speed slider to up the speed. Way cool! Made amazingly smooth pate!

I did a lot of comparison research before buying this, including looking at KitchenAid and other top brands, and this model consistently ranked at the top. It has absolutely lived up to that. The power is outstanding. It handles everything I’ve thrown at it, from crushing ice for protein shakes to finely blending garlic and olive oil. The results are smooth and consistent every time. The variable speed control is easy to use, and the safety mechanism is a nice feature that prevents accidental starts. I primarily use the blender and chopper attachments, both of which perform extremely well. The chopper in particular is a great addition and very effective. I haven’t used the whisk yet, but based on everything else, I expect it to perform just as well. This has become a go to tool in my kitchen. Strong performance, well designed, and versatile. I just received this item a little while ago and have not used it yet, but my initial impression is that it is a well-made device. It's sturdy, easy to use, and easy to disassemble for cleaning. I read reviews with complaints about the safety button. Personally, I think they are overstated, but I did find the safety button to be rather obtrusive when pulsing. It's a bit awkward to hold down the safety button with your index finger while using your middle and ring fingers to repeatedly press and release the power button. The safety button is a mechanical lockout, and if you don't fully press it, you cannot press down the power button. When pulsing, I tended to let off the safety button enough to lock out the power button. Based on what I observe, I expect the device to operate mostly as expected. I'm looking forward to using it and, although I didn't buy it for the chopper/grinder attachment, I'll be interested to see how well it works compared to my food processor. Once I get a chance to use it, I'll amend my review. UPDATE: I used the product to make tomato soup with fresh tomatoes, and it worked very well. I just ran the blender on low speed because I wanted texture and did not want it completely smooth. Later I tried the chopper to chop some vegetables. I found it to work okay, but even 1 cup of veggies was a little too much because the larger pieces floated on top of the mix and remained over the blades and would not get chopped. If the amount is over about 1.5 cups, I'll just use my food processor. For smaller amounts, I think this chopper is more convenient, but I won't load more than about .75 cups at a time. As for the whisk, I imagine that it can do a good job, but you really need to use it in a vessel that has steep and pretty high walls. Even on low speed, it was slinging out food to the point that I could not make use of it for what I was trying to do. Again, all very easy to clean. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

So far, very pleased. Sturdy feel works like a champ. I have been wanting one for some time. I had bought another brand but it didnt work. This works. This has been a great addition to my kitchen so far. The unlock and power button need to be pressed at same time. So place in hand with buttons facing away from you. Line up your fingers to be able to press both. This will get it powered up. Once going, you can release the lock button, but dont have to. Just know that if you stop, you will have to start that over again. Pretty sure this is the norm. Attachments are easy on/easy off, easy clean. Have yet to use the whisk, but can say that both the immersion attachment and the Chopper does a great job. This tool is something I have been missing in my life. I love not having to get out my big heavy noisy blenders all the time, especially for small jobs. What a game changer.

I shopped around and looked at lower-priced brands. Many of them had high ratings, but all of them had statistically significant incidents of failure. I asked for a little help from AI to find some brands with higher reliability ratings. This one looked good. It was higher priced, but has evidence of long life. And it is effective! I hate granular chunks in my drinks. This tool makes them smooth and drinkable.

Bought this back in Jan 2026. Today is April 2026. I Opened Box to Use this for soup, and Its Dead Straight from the Box! Now its too late to return this Garbage! Not Happy!

This is our second time purchasing this product as our last model lasted us nearly 15 years. It was used regularly and performed without issue! I am sure this one will be equally great!

Muy buen tamaño, sirve mucho en la cocina ojalár dure mucho se dice q es de buena calidad ojala q cumpla con todo lo específicado por bastante tiempo

Funciona y sirve bien aunque después de mucho uso hay que volver a afilar las cuchillas y lo único malo que encontré aveces las aspas se salen por movimiento de cosas duras. ( las cuchillas y su soporte de giro se unen pero se salen aveces).

Excelente batidora, muy buena potencia y los accesorios son lo más, todo de muy buena calidad y práctico para el uso en casa, la batidora está muy bien para batir huevos o cosas livianas, no para mezclas espesas.
