I love this cat door and I am so glad I bought this one. I have an exterior wall in the garage that is 1/2 inch thick and this cat door works perfect. I just put the template on the wall, traced with a pencil, and cut the hole. No measuring needed. I did use a level to make sure the line was straight across the top before I made the cut though. I was not expecting the flap to be tinted, its almost like sunglasses or window tint would be. This was an extra plus for me as it is not possible to see in. This door works perfect for my cat! After accidentally leaving my poor kitty outside in a thunderstorm, I needed a way so she could access our screen porch on her own. This door is made for screens (which is how I use it) or thin doors (it’s says up to 1/2, but it actually fits up to 3/4 an inch). It took some enticing with treats, showing her multiple times how to use it and holding the door open until she got comfortable enough to use it, but after about a week, she was using it on her own. I like the four way lock system, it’s easy to use. And I like the size, price and color of this door. I put the top of the door 10.5 inches from the ground so that my cat could push on the bottom of the door and her tummy wouldn’t drag across the bottom (not many cats like their tummies touched!). My cat’s shoulders are 7.5 inches tall, her ear tops are at 10 inches and she weighs 11 lbs. This door is ideal for her and I highly recommend for screens or thin doors on small-average sized cats!!!

We have 4 cats and decided they needed to learn to go in/out by themselves. This door was easy to install, once we managed to cut our way through the metal of the door. It’s secure and looks great from the outside. The inside is not as pretty looking. It would have been nice if the front piece and back piece extended further in to each other cover the gap (foam, insulation) that is now exposed from cutting into door. I included a pic for reference. It doesn’t look bad but would be nice if I didn’t see the inside of the door. This door has a pretty strong magnet and one has to nudge pretty good to get it to swing open. Now for the interesting part of this review. My cats are indoor/outdoor and are avid hunters. This door has been installed for almost 4 weeks and I honestly didn’t think it was being used. I was wrong. I’ve also come to realize that they apparently have been missing out on leaving me “gifts” from their hunting adventures. A few mornings ago I awoke to find some feathers, what looked to be a stomach and two bird legs neatly position on my bedroom floor. Somehow I slept through this meal. Then two nights ago, my cat, Butters, hopped on the bed. I realized then that he was using cat door because I knew I’d let him outside. Anyways, something seemed off when he jumped on the bed. I turned on the lamp and surprise! He had a mouse hanging out of his mouth! Standing on my bed! I did a little praising of his skills and tossed him out. Next morning he strolls in and we hear this crazy sound- he’s now brought a cicada in. Needless to say, this has been an adventure. Lol. Would I recommend the door? Yes. Just be aware that you might start getting “gifts”.

This is a very well built pet door for a cat or small dog. It was easy to install. It actually comes with a template so you can cut a perfect hole. As many others have said, this door comes with screws that are only long enough for a door that is 1/2 inch thick or less, like a storm door. You could use it for any door, but you would have to buy longer screws. The door seals well when closed and it actually snaps into the closed position almost magically (I could not figure out how it does it, it does not have any springs). The door has two locks; one to prevent the door from opening inward and another to prevent the door from opening outward. When both lock are disengaged the door will open either way and when both are engaged, the door will not open at all. I found this two way locking system very useful. We live out in the country, so our cat wonders a lot, especially on days we want to take him to the vet. We just set the door to open inward only, and the next time he comes in for a drink, he can't get out. I recommend this product for anyone with a cat or small dog.

We installed this in our garage door. The install was very easy and straightforward. It works great for our skittish, somewhat ignorant cat. We have had our problem with a juvenile raccoon who kept getting into our garage and ransacking the place, all the while leaving excrement on everything. He has since disappeared, only to be replaced with our neighbors cat who attacks our cat, eats his food and hisses at us. The door does have a locking function so you can lock your kitty in (or out) at night, limiting unwanted guests. Currently, we are looking for an electronic door since our neighbors cat is such a menace.

Esta puerta es ideal para instalar en puertas delgadas de herrería o madera, ventanas, en fin, lo que sea delgado. La calidad es insuperable. Two cats that have never had a see through cat door before got used to this one real fast. This one stays nice and shut when it's windy. Of course it lets in a little cold air (Swedish winter) compared to the rest of the wooden door but sure is a lot better than the flap it replaced. Would recommend.

La gata es pequeña y se ha adaptado en unas 36 horas, en un principio dejando la gatera abierta con un celo adhesivo y despues con incentivos de comida hacia ambos lados. La abre perfectamente y el ruido es insignificante. Otro dato es que no se abre con el viento. Perfecta.
