Smart ZigBee Strip Light Switch Controller for Echo Alexa Voice Control Smart Phone APP Control RGBW or White Colour Strip Lights, Compatible with Echo Plus and Other Standard ZigBee Hub or Bridge

The media could not be loaded.  I'm using this with a Philips Hue 2.0 bridge (latest firmware as of 26-June 2018). This does pair and it works, but there are some drawbacks compared to the first party Philips RGBW LED strip controller. The instructions included are short but make sense. I had no issue with setup of this unit.1) Even though this can be seen in both Hue and SmartThings, it does not appear to be seen in HomeKit. One reason I use Hue specifically for my lighting is that it has HomeKit integration. This controller does not show up in HomeKit where other Philips Hue (A19 RGBW, Candelabra RGBW, Hue Iris, Hue Bloom) all do.2) I use a secondary trigger switch (wireless) to turn off/on as a failsafe. For some reason this will not turn on when power is flipped and I must physically unplug/replug the power adaptor.2a) I have tried multiple 12V adapters and have the same condition.2b) The first 12V adapter I used worked previously with Sylvania/Osram Smart+ RGBW strip controller and this configuration. This appears to be unique to this unit.2c) I'm planning on placing an in-line switch which will work just not as easy as a wireless trigger.3) Overall the construction is fairly basic. The circuit board is sloppily glued into the housing.4) One concern I have moving forward is if there are firmware updates, does not look like there will be a simple method to update this device. I do not see a JTAG header or USB interface. Time will tell how the firmware updates (if there are any) will need to be applied.

If you are purchasing this device for use with SmartThings, you'll need to dig into the Smartthings IDE (the interface that allows you to customize certain aspects of your SmartThings functionality from the web). If you don't know what this is, then you should probably do a little research to determine what to do. It's not hard, but it takes some time and familiarity with how IOT objects talk to each other. It will greatly enhance your SmartThings experience.Install the device handler and add the device. I had no issues with pairing and operation is just what I wanted.

I had low expectations for this. I have been using z-wave for 5+years and I purchased it this as part of my test of various Zigbee lights. I use HomeSeer Pro as my main controller and I am testing Hue and ConBee Zigbee hubs to see which one works better with lights and my HomeSeer controller. Surprisingly this controller paired with both without any issues, and has been very responsive. The controller does have a gigantic red light inside the box and the plastic does feels cheap. In addition, on few occasions it did not dim my lights all the way done. Light was off, but I could see green light barley on. For these reasons, I am taking one star off.

Setup was simple, Philips Hue found it immediately and Alexa did it all for me. However! And this is the reason for the two star rating overall, the Hue app will not just illuminate the white channel on the RGBW strip, it always has some colour lit, no way to turn it off. Also in the Hue app, although it's seen as a color light, it is not available to be used in "entertainment areas". Lastly the physical green and red wires had to be reversed connecting red to green on the controller and green to red on the controller otherwise you selected green on the app or Alexa and red lit up and vice versa.

I'm indifferent to this product. On one hand, I ordered this on July 18th 2018 and I've had it hooked up to my Philips Hue app with no issues whatsoever, but I reordered this exact product on 01/22/2019 and received a different product that I can't get to work and can't find anyone with the same issue anywhere online. My original zigbee controller has a smaller "pin" for the 12v power supply to slide over and the power supply in use for that does not fit the new one I received because the "pin" on the new one is too large. I found another power supply lying around and plugged it in and it powers on but the box glows red and I don't know why? When I hold the reset button the lights blink on my lightstrip so I know they're hooked up right but they don't light up otherwise. I ordered a replacement so hopefully they send me one that matches my original order because what I received is trash.

Great alternative. I had both Lightify and Hue LED strips. I used this module for the left over Lightly strips and they worked. Only issue I have is that I do a lot of music syncing and they don't dim as low as the original Hue strips. Pretty sure it is because they are OSRAM strips or because the Hue strips are 6 pin versus 5 pin. It's not a big deal. Also, it Hue will not let you add it to the entertainment area of the app because it is not Hue product. makes a difference if you are using the Hue Sync made windows or mac that was released spring 2018

Bought this for some extra Lightify strips i had because the newer Light+ controllers are 6-pin vs 5-pin for the older strips. This works fine but the color reproduction is not the same as the Lightify controller. My strips often do not match when set to the same color in Smartthings.

I have a few of these. it saved me so much money. I have take a huge role of inexpensive RGB light strip and connect it to my ZigBee network. it doesnt give you all the options like Phillips Hue but your not paying a crap tone of money this way,
