Dave's Self Tanner Organic & Natural Medium/Dark Sunless Tanning Lotion. All Skin Types

I have been using Famous Dave's for 5 years. I started with the moisture tan in medium and last year I spent the summer using the Small Batch Reserve in medium-dark. I am a blonde with pale golden skin. I find either one of these tanners worked very well for me. They give me a nice, realistic "spent the week in Greece tan" which is beautiful! I go through about 5 to 6 bottles through the summer. I used to tan all year but find I really don't need to do so. Famous Dave's a not inexpensive but as they say (you get what you pay for". I get a beautiful tan that does not transfer to my clothing and is not obnoxious smelling! I can live with that! In the meantime I wait, wait, wait for his specials because he does come up with wonderful specials once he has you on his email list at least a couple of times a year. Then, I jump on it! Good luck and happy tanning! Your skin will love you!!! (-: If applied a per their very instructional video you will find it applies very well using the glove and leaves no streaks. Just keep going around and around to make sure you haven't miss any spots. Use the moisturizer on ankles, knees, (inside elbows), wrists, and hands. Once I have finished my main torso I use what is left on my mitt and go over all the areas you have wrinkles and seams, neck up to face; that way you aren't developing more product than you need. I also use a bronzing powder. (and, no, no one paid me to right this review!)

this is hands down the best self tanner I have ever used, I have been self tanning for years and I have done professional spray tans and have tried foam tanners, lotions, gels ect ect. THIS is my favorite tanning product I have ever used. the color is AMAZING, I dont get that horrible scent even the next day. The lotion doesn't have added fragrance so it does not irritate the skin. It smooths on so beautifully, AND the best part of all aside from the color is that there is no color guide! It goes on white so it does not stain all of your clothes and sheets. I am very very pale naturally and I find the medium/dark formula to still be on the light side so I usually layer it on twice in one day to get the perfect color. ALSO it fades evenly! It does not patch off and make you look crazy. Most self tanners make me smell horrible and flake off of me in patches ( YUCK ) This however does not. HIGHLY recommend!

I, likely many others, have tried multiple self-tanning cremes, gels, and sprays throughout the years with varying degrees if success & failure. So I am creating this review with a considerable amount of experience. I really love this product. It goes on smooth and has a very lush consistency I would expect from my high-end moisturizers. The scent is purely subjective. Many reviewers found it to be too much while I think it is subtle and very pleasant. I am fair skinned but decided to try this tan level. For me it worked out great. But (as suggested by the manufacturer) I'm gonna wait till tomorrow to apply another layer. It still looks natural and streakless - but I love the idea of a little more color. This product is a bit more expensive than most other self-tanners but there is a very obvious reason - good quality costs more. If you aren't sure which tan level will work for you, please go through Amazon and try one of the other options. I was very surprised to see how many choices are available. Bottom line. Not happy, doesn't work for you - send it back. What do you have to lose?

I bought this because I read somewhere that it is paraben free. I have used other self tanners but have been looking for a slightly more "skin healthy" option. These are my thoughts: 1. The medium dark isn't dark enough 2. It streaks quite badly. A previous reviewer said the mitt helps (but I don't want to buy a separate product to use it). I can't get my legs to look even regardless of how I apply it. 3. As another user noted, it looks very fake when out in direct sunlight. This is compounded by its uneven tone on certain areas. It looks better indoors-so maybe a winter product only? I will use this up and not throw it away because I don't want to waste the $33. Overall, although with less "chemicals" it is still not so very natural, and the aforementioned downsides, along with price are a big enough turn off that I will be trying something else next time around.

This was my second bottle I ordered. First was light to mid and worked well. So I ordered darker for the second half of the summer to maintain natural tan I had from the sun. And it does nothing. My tan almost all gone but lotion dose nothing my skin color do not change after applying. It fills like thEye missed to add active ingredients into it, it's like experience moisturizer nothing else. Was very disappointed.

Love this stuff gives great color compared to others I've used recently. Takes about 2 coats to get nice color for me. A very light scent until it cures. Be sure to shower in the morning to get rid of that dried cured odor all sunless tanners seem create that. Then your off and running for the day. Dries pretty fast rub in well and you'll have a great streak free sunless tan. Be sure to use rubbergloves or applicator as to not turn your palms. It seemed to make my skin feel softer and so far is lasting longer then other sunless tanners I've used. Not orangey at all.

I really like the natural color it gives me. The smell is awful but fades away after about an hr if you can stand the smell it's worth it. Bottle goes a long way. Update....I love it! Still hate the smell but the color is amazing. This product is truly for older skin. I had a hard time getting other tanners to look good on my skin ( I'm 53) this one is great! I'll buy it again for sure.

I've been using this self-tanner for a couple years and can't imagine using anything else. After giving up the tanning beds (because who wants cancer?!) I thought I'd be ghost white for life. So you can imagine how exited I was to find this tanner. It blends great and is perfect for my skin which is pretty pale. I've never looked orange or even like I have a fake tan. It smells good and dries fast! It doesn't rub off on my clothes and lasts a good week with low-to-no maintenance. If I want to be a little darker, I'll do a second layer within the next 2 days. I've tried a few Famous Dave tanners and while all good, the Small Batch Reserve is by far my favorite.
