New wrinkles in tennis gameplay will challenge your ability to read an opponent's position and stroke to determine which shot will give you the advantage. And this time the game adds the first story mode since the Mario Tennis game on the Game Boy Advance system, offering a new flavor of tennis gameplay, with a variety of missions, boss battles and more. Up your game with Zone Speed and Zone Shot Unleash an arsenal of shots and strategies in all-out tennis battles with friends, family, and fan-favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters. Review: Enjoyable! - I honestly don't understand the negative reviews of this game. Although it can be frustrating at times, I found this to be worlds better than the Mario Tennis for the Wii U. 1.) Adventure Mode - This is the "story mode" which you can progress through to unlock courts. It's amusing, and definitely helped me practice my Mario Tennis skills. Whenever I would get stuck on a certain challenge, I had the option to go between different modes so I was never bored. 2.) Tournament Mode (Online vs. COM) - The COM tournament was exactly what I was looking for, and what I missed from Mario Tennis for the Wii U. I enjoyed progressing through the COM tournament. The online tournament's match-making is broken, but still fun to work through if you are stuck in another area of the game. 3.) Free Play - This is pretty much what is expected from a semi-party game. I've played the online free play with friends and locally with my husband, and it seemed to work just fine (aside from the online play being a little confusing to navigate). There are new mechanics to get the hang of, but with a lot of practice and improving your reaction time, it's definitely a fun game. I am not sure what others expected from a Mario Tennis game aside from what they provided. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this for any Mario Tennis enthusiast. I grew up with Mario Tennis for the N64 and it definitely lives up to that.
Review: Best Sports Game of 2018 - I've played Madden, 2K, The Show, Fifa, and this and this is one of the very few times I think the Nintendo game has dominated the pack (the only other example I can think of is Strikers for Gamecube and MAYBE Super Sluggers on Wii). The controls are simple enough to get right away, but complex enough to take time to master, sort of like a good fighting game. There are enough levels and modes to give the game plenty of variety, but the regular game is fun enough that big fans won't even need other features. It's probably the most satisfying online experience the good Nintendo games have to offer, simply because it's exactly what I want out of online tennis. The ability to play against a friend or to enter tournaments against strangers. This is a must own game for the Switch, IMO, and is great fun with two players. I'm buying it for my cousin for Christmas.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is $59.99 a place holder price?**
A: No. $59.96 is the manufacturer suggested retail price but if you are an Amazon Prime member then you can pre-order this and most other games at a discounted rate of $47.99 and get it at the day of release by selecting free 2 day shipping. That's $12 savings and a better price then any other retailer that I've ever seen sell new release games. It's really the best deal in new video game retail; even better then another major gaming retailer that sells a membership whose discounts are based on a complicated points algorithm--just STOP it already.

**Q: I’m confused? mario tennis aces launches in june why does it say this is for december?**
A: LOOK AGAIN NOW IT SAYS JUNE

**Q: Will this item recieve the prime preorder discount?**
A: Short answer: YES. Prime members who pre-order and that have an active Prime subscription at the time of placing an order and at the time of shipment will receive the discount price of $47.99.

**Q: Why is one of Mario tennis $29 and the other $59**
A: Mario aces is the newest Mario tennis for the switch.
Is the $29 one used? Is one a different older version?
Or you found a deal!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best game in the series
*by U***E on March 29, 2019*

This is easily the best Mario Tennis game in the series. The Adventure mode is a welcome addition (although limited) and I recommend all new players play the Adventure mode prior to heading into the Online Tournament because the Adventure mode teaches the player how to execute the new moves/gameplay additions. The Online Tournament is truly where this game shines and it was encouraging to see Nintendo add additional characters each month post-release to give players something to look forward to. The only negative I have is that there are 4 characters that are incredibly cheap and overpowered compared to the rest (I'm looking at you Chain Chomp, Piranha Plant, Boo, Waluigi). I wish there was a way to avoid having to play against these characters in Online Play and play against characters that actually require more skill. Even if they nerfed these characters like they did with Bowser Jr., it would be much appreciated so players can go head-to-head on a more equal playing field. Ultimately though, I really enjoyed my time with this game and would definitely purchase a sequel if Nintendo were to release one. This game is a solid foundation for the series & hopefully Nintendo builds upon this with a future Mario Tennis release.
