Johnson's 40-6648 Self-Leveling Cross & Line Laser combines the features of a cross-line laser with an additional 90 degree plumb line useful for checking square reference of beams, posts, or any other object. A 1/4"-20 tripod thread and manual mode also let you project orthogonal lines at any angle, for stairs and other non-level applications.

I actually purchased a Bosch and though it was a fine unit, it did not have a "manual" mode that was stated in the description. I returned it to desertcart, which was so easy it reminds me of why I buy on desertcart. This Johnson level has all the features I was looking for, including the manual mode that allows you to lock the pendulum and use the level for angles, such as stair rails. In addition, it has a plumb line. Instruction manual also gives process to confirm that unit is level, square and plumb. It doe not have a way to make adjustments, but I am confident that if it were to loose any of those Johnson's product support would help. Highly recommend at this point. I see no reason that this level will not last a very long time with proper care.

This laser level is excellent, you can choose just one set of crosshair or switch in the additional side vertical. I have used it for putting up shelves all around a room so that they meet up perfectly at the same height everywhere and also for laying tiles in a diamond pattern across a large floor. I love it. The only odd thing is that it not only doesn't come with a hard case, but Johnson don't even make or supply a case for it. I bought an X-Treme S3 2500 hard case for it and made my own foam insert so it is well protected in my toolbag.
