Incredible performance for 4K editing, easily replaces my studio setup
Been using this for professional work and it has been seriously impressive. Performance is on another level. It handles everything I throw at it without slowing down, including editing 4K LOG footage in both Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Even when working with multiple layers, effects and larger projects, it stays smooth and responsive. It genuinely feels capable of replacing a full studio setup for a lot of workflows, which is impressive for a laptop. It is especially strong for on the go work. I use this while travelling and it gives me the same confidence as working on a desktop. Battery life is great for general use and easily lasts through the day. When doing more demanding tasks like editing or rendering, it does drain faster, but that is expected given the level of performance. The display is excellent. Colours are accurate and it is ideal for editing work. The only small thing I would say is that it could be slightly brighter in certain situations, but overall it is still one of the best laptop screens I have used. Build quality is exactly what you would expect. Solid, premium and reliable with no issues so far. In terms of workflow, it has made a noticeable difference. Being able to edit, organise files and deliver work from anywhere without needing a main studio setup is a huge advantage. Overall, a seriously powerful machine that can comfortably handle professional workloads and replace a desktop in many situations.

Thin, light, powerful, long lasting battery and charges you for it.
I abandoned Apple years ago, but the M1 chip convinced me to give it another chance. The M4 is even better. I upgraded from the 16-inch M1 to the M4, and while it’s more portable, the 16-inch has a better screen real estate and sound. As expected from an M SOC Mac, it’s great. The build quality is excellent, with every detail nicely crafted. The screen, though not OLED, is great and better than most laptops. Performance is excellent, with great memory management. I can run many applications and heavy software development tools without high memory pressure. It does all this while on battery, which is incredible. You won’t get this with heavy video editing, but it’s still great performance and more battery life than any other notebook. The keyboard is comfortable to type with good key travel, and the touchpad is one of the few in the industry that’s usable. However, it’s an expensive laptop, and there’s no competition that offers the same at a lower price.

It's Apple!
I have been using this MacBook for almost a year now and it's working today as it did on day one. I've used Apple Macs for almost 20 years, as in my opinion, they can't be beaten on build quality. This 14" model replaced an older 16" MacBook Pro. I didn't really need the larger screen size and wasn't dissapointed with the smaller 14' screen - it's beautiful - everything is so crisp and clear. I purchased the MacBook on the amazon pay in 5 plan, so it felt like it offered even better value for money as I didn't have to pay the full amount all at once. Performance is blazingly fast, offers outstanding sound quality for a laptop (solid and punchy), and I get around 2 weeks use on the battery with average use. This is a heavy beast but that's because it's built to last.

Excellent Quality from Apple
The Apple MacBook Pro M4 Pro (2024) is an excellent laptop with a sturdy build quality that will last for many years. I purchased the 12-Core CPU and 16-Core GPU variant with 14" screen and 512GB SDD, and I am very pleased with the specification. It can handle high-end tasks really well, even on apps originally intended for Intel-based MACs which now run on Apple silicon through their own emulation tool called Rosetta (all built in, no setup required). The battery has a great life and lasts for the majority of the day, dependant on the tasks you are doing. If you regularly keep the device connected to the mains power, it learns this and starts to only use the mains instead of constantly charging the battery; this prolongs the life of the battery capacity. The screen is clear and bright and clearly shows the quality of this Apple product. For anyone looking for a laptop alongside links to other Apple devices such as iPhone and Watch, I highly recommend this item.

Fast, secure, developer friendly
I use MacBooks for professional and important work. I got this Mac to replace my i7 32GB 16 inch 512GB 2019 Mac. I’m summary I’m 100% pleased with the M4 Pro after using it for a while. It feels 75% faster. Which is a lot and I feel a clear sense of speed enhancement as I work fast and feel minimal drag. It’s fast, sleek, responsive, secure, and very capable to handle big demands. details: I use it for frontend, backend, and AI software development as well as project management to name a few. Xcode is known for being a hungry beast - it needs huge performance especially now with hot loading (instantly showing your work). As an iOS engineer I don’t have much choice but to use macOS. But I’m fine with that as each iteration of MacBooks has given a better experience of creating software. macOS gives me confidence in data security, privacy, fast and long lasting technology. It looks and feels great. The finger swipes make developing much easier allowing multiple screens that you navigate by a simple swipe. I also feel the keys are positioned fluidly for quick typing. It’s quite, the weight feels good, like you’re money is well spent. There’s no noise despite high demanding apps running. The colour is sleek as is the design. I like large screens but the 14 inch feels good. My only gripe is the text is so small. While I was able to increase text through settings and apps - the os text remained tiny so I had to keep the resolution on the default size. That’s not great as the real estate really helps with side by side work. But it’s far from a deal breaker. Again I use macs only for professional or private security conscious work. Entertainment is not the forte - there are cheaper and better performing machines.

Fantastic Portable Editing Machine — Not the Fastest Renderer, But Perfect for Timeline Work
I picked up the 14-inch 2024 MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro chip (24GB RAM, 512GB SSD) as a general-purpose machine and a portable option for editing when I’m away from my main desktop. For that role, it’s excellent. Right out of the box, the build quality is outstanding. It feels solid, the screen looks incredible, and everything about it has that premium Apple finish. In actual use, timeline editing in DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro is very smooth, thanks to the media engine. Basic cuts, scrubbing, and general editing are responsive. Some effects — like Smooth Cut and Morph — definitely need rendering to play back smoothly, but that’s expected for portable hardware. The only downside is that render speeds are slower than I anticipated. It seems limited by the media engine, running at roughly 70% of the speed of my RTX 4070 Ti Super. For my workflow, that’s acceptable because I mainly use this laptop for timeline work rather than final exports — and for that purpose, it’s perfect. After three months of use, durability seems great and the battery life is excellent. This MacBook is ideal for creators on the go who want a reliable, well-built machine with great timeline performance and long battery life. I would buy it again and would happily recommend it.

Grand in every sense.
A grand machine. The acoustics are simply incredible, I am still stunned when I hear the sound coming out from it. Anything, even EastEnders I dare say will sound fabulous. ...and then there's the rest of it. A polished design with obviously a lot of thought gone into it. I have yet to explore it's further reaches, but it is first class for post processing photography. Mac users say they are machines that are worth the investment, keeping you good for 10 years.
