I'm a quarter inch under 5 ft tall. The bar that comes with the set is just barely long enough for myself to use comfortably. I can't imagine a normal sized adult using this set at the correct arm span. Plus this set is truly for beginners. I will personally use it for maybe 6 months. As soon as i get my strength built back up, I'm going to need more weight than what this set offers. So I guess my kids will be inheriting it this coming winter. It'll be a good start for them. All together though, it's a good set and the weights seem durable. We'll see about the plastic, screw together, bar. I do love the padding on the bar.
