Completely solved my backyard Wi-Fi issues
I’ve been through my fair share of routers over the years, and I have to say the Amazon eero Outdoor WiFi 7 has been a really pleasant surprise. I was a little hesitant at first because outdoor networking equipment can be hit or miss, but this one has exceeded my expectations. First off, the setup was incredibly easy. I’m pretty tech savvy but I’ve definitely dealt with routers in the past that made me want to pull my hair out with complicated configuration screens and confusing instructions. Not this one. The eero app walked me through everything step by step and I had it up and running in maybe 15 minutes. No digging through manuals, no googling error codes, just a smooth process from start to finish. I really appreciated that. The build quality feels solid. You can tell this thing is meant to be outside. It’s got a nice heft to it and the housing feels like it can handle whatever weather comes its way. We get a lot of rain here in Florida and I’ve had it installed for a few weeks now with no issues whatsoever. No moisture problems, no overheating, nothing. It just sits there and does its job. Performance has been rock solid. I mainly got this to extend coverage out to my backyard and garage area where my old setup was really struggling. Before, I’d be lucky to get one or two bars on my phone when I was out by the patio, and streaming anything was basically impossible. Now I’m getting full signal strength pretty much everywhere on my property. I can work from my back porch, the kids can use their tablets outside, and I’ve even got solid coverage out in the garage now which is great for when I’m working on projects out there and want to throw on some music or a podcast. WiFi 7 is definitely a step up if you haven’t upgraded in a while. Everything just feels faster and more responsive. I notice it most when multiple people are doing different things at once. Before, if someone was streaming a movie while someone else was on a video call and another person was gaming, things would get choppy. Now it handles all of that without breaking a sweat. I’m not going to pretend I understand all the technical stuff behind it, but whatever they’re doing under the hood is working. The mesh integration with my other eero devices inside the house was seamless too. It all just works together as one network so I’m not juggling different SSIDs or dealing with dead zones as I move around. My phone switches between nodes automatically and I never notice any dropoffs or lag when it happens. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the price is a little steep, but honestly for outdoor rated equipment with this kind of performance, it’s probably in line with what you’d expect. And considering how frustrating bad wifi can be, I’d rather just spend the money once and have something that works reliably than cheap out and end up replacing it in a year. Overall I’m really happy with this purchase. It solved the exact problem I bought it for, setup was painless, and it’s been working flawlessly since day one. If you need to extend your wifi coverage outdoors and want something that’s easy to set up and just works, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a look. No regrets here.

Extends my connectivity to devices
If you already run an eero mesh system and need robust, high-speed coverage for patios, garages, or sprawling yards, the eero Outdoor 7 delivers unmatched ease of use and weatherproof reliability. Just be aware you’re paying a premium for dual-band Wi-Fi 7 performance and app-only management—if you need true tri-band or 6 GHz support, consider other outdoor APs. But for seamless integration and rock-solid outdoor connectivity, it’s tough to beat. I use it to connect my WiFi security cameras and I am able to have a solid connection with this system. I can also stream movies, sports games and TV shows on our patio and in the garage now. Pros: -Massive Outdoor Coverage: One unit blankets up to 15,000 sq ft of yard, patio, garage, or outbuilding space—eliminating dead zones and extending your network to remote areas like barns, garage and patios. -Reliable Outdoor Performance: Delivers consistent speeds (often 350–450 Mbps in real-world tests) even under trees or across lawns. -Easy Installation: PoE+ injector and AC options mean you can mount it high and far without running multiple cables. -Smart-Home Hub Ready: Integrates with Thread, Matter, and Zigbee devices when paired with the eero PoE gateway. -Durable & Low-Maintenance: IP66 housing and rugged build let you “set it and forget it” year-round. Cons: Entry-Level Wi-Fi 7: Lacks the 6 GHz band—only supports 2×2 on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so it’s not as future-proof as tri-band outdoor APs . -Pricey: The WiFi router is substantially more expensive than many Wi-Fi 6 outdoor extenders. -No Local Web UI: Configuration and diagnostics are limited to the eero app—power users may miss a full web-based interface.

Easy to set up and effectively extended outdoor wifi
Simple setup and great solution to extend wifi to an outbuilding. Line of sight from receiver to transmitter distance of 120 feet provided strong wifi signal to the entire outbuilding. Tied in Ring cameras for a much better perimeter security coverage. Not cheap but effective and good value for the money - running outdoor LAN cable would have a significant cost too and a whole lot more complicated.

Great outdoor addition to my existing Eero setup
Setup was super easy — the instructions were clear, and it registered right away with my existing Eero 6 system. Mounting it was straightforward, and within minutes my backyard coverage improved noticeably, fast connectivity and WiFi speeds. The signal has been strong and stable so far. I got it on sale, which made it an even better value. Very happy with how well it extends my network outdoors. I was hesitant at first with the price, but hoping it lasts a long time (definitely feels sturdy), and it you can get it on sale, do it!

My Backyard is Lit!
I purchased this about 4 months ago so I've had a chance to really use it. Setup was crazy easy using the Eero app on my phone. I mounted it on the rear of my house, under the eve with the included hardware. I ended up purchasing a TrendNet POE injector to provide the unit with power as an electrical outlet was too far from the unit. At first I was only getting a 100MB connection using wired backhaul. It turned out to be a defective CAT6 cable. Once replaced, it was connected at 2.5 GB. The signal strength is amazing! I have about an acre of property and even at the rear extremities, I'm getting 200 to 300 MB. Around the sides of the house the signal drops significantly and it's almost non existent in the front as I imagine the house blocks the signal. We've had large gatherings and no one has experienced any speed issues in the backyard. The only drawback is that it seems a little pricey. I got over that pretty fast as it's been absolutely rock solid since day one.
