This and all Flatiron pepper blends is one of the best ways to up your culinary game! This four pepper blend is my favorite - it is the perfect balance of flavor and notable heat. A bit too hot for amateurs, just right for those who like to achieve a kick without going full-nuclear! For an extreme & serious kick in the face, look for the black label blend (ghost + other peps). I grow & eat all of the super hots each summer and this stuff kicks my butt! The green label Jalapeno blend is also excellent - fantastic level of flavor with just the right amount of heat. The other two blends, sweet & smoky, both live up to their name and are perfect for meats, smoked foods, stews, etc. Since I have discovered Flatiron a few years ago, I have never gone back to plain crushed red. It's really nice to have a pantry full of pepper blends to choose from! The price can be a bit high but is completely worth it!

Truly the best, most flavorful, spicy red pepper flakes I've ever had! You can actually taste all the peppers listed. It's good for cooking and to sprinkle on top of anything and everything. Regular red pepper flakes taste like cardboard now.

I went to a pizza joint in Denver and did my normal routine of adorning my pie with 7 - 12 shakes from the red pepper shaker at the table. 95% of the time when I do this, the red pepper flakes might add a tinge of pepper-y flavor, but will not provide any noticeable heat. 4% of the time they might add a little zip, but not enough to really register as "spicy". These fall into a special class of that remaining 1% that I had used enough and it had rendered my pie so spicy that I was sweating and had to dance and jump around a bit like a lunatic to finish the pizza. I learned after the fact that the pizza joint had a batch of these in the shaker and I rushed home to order some for myself. We are on our second or third shaker and couldn't be happier. I don't know if it was that specific batch, or perhaps the pizza joint had a different red pepper flake offering from Flatiron Pepper Co (like the "I Can't Feel My Face" one), but none of the ones we've ordered have been quite as spicy as that first experience. Though, in fairness, I also don't put an absurd number of shakes of pepper on my food like I did on that fateful midsummer afternoon. Highly recommend!

I like a lot of the Flat Iron pepper products. I use the Four Pepper blend for pizza flakes. These have more flavor and just a little more heat than normal flakes. The bottom of the jar can get some big woody pieces though, but it lasts a long time. I also use the Asian blend for Asian food, and Kimsa Q'Uni when I want it to hurt which is "only" 125k SU. They have stronger ones that I am too afraid to try, and I love spicy.

I've tried this on a few different things, cuisines, etc and I'm ready to review: Pros: * typically hotter than red pepper flakes * takes to cooking very well * deeper, more rich flavor than red pepper flakes Cons: * not much hotter than red pepper flakes, on average * some bites are somewhat hotter than others (inconsistent) * not as versatile as red pepper flakes Try it with: * pizza * Mexican * Italian * marinades By far my favorite was using it in place of red pepper flakes in Chicken alla diavola (Italian chicken dish). It brought out some good heat by allowing the heat and flavor to blend together. I did like it on pizza, but I think the flakes work best as a component when cooking. I don't think it worked as well as I wanted it to with Thai curry/stir fry, Chinese stir fry, or a French omelette. That last one was on me though, not sure why I put it in the omelette, it didn't really taste great with the other flavor combinations lol. It is a bit pricey, but I'd order this again. The mix is flavorful and good enough to want to keep trying more of it. 7.5/10.

I can't use other brands of red pepper flakes after trying this one. It's so spicy and you don't get any of those hard flakes that are tough to chew. Great for sauces, pizza. I put them on my eggs and it adds a good little kick. I do think it's a little spicier than normal red pepper flakes but if you're used to heat it shouldn't be over the top and completely bearable. Just don't overuse it like I do. As far as the price goes, I do think it's a little on the higher side, but it's completely worth the money. Wish they sold the original red pepper in bulk, have not tried the other ones but I just use this one. It's great!

Best red pepper blend I've had! It is packed with so much flavor. It can be used for literally anything. Packed with all the good stuff and not all the bad stuff. Iwill be a life long customer.

This pepper costs a few dollars in the States but its seller on Amazon UK charges MANY multiples of its price making it a one star item in my book.
