## Description

The role of Medium bomber proved to be one of the most crucial during the second world war and after something of a challenging service introduction, the North American B-25 Mitchell developed into a highly successful aircraft. Seeing service in every theatre of operation, the B-25 was the most versatile aircraft of its Type, fulfilling a multitude of tactical roles in many different operating environments. Arguably, the most famous action involving the North American B-25 Mitchell came just after 8Am on 18th April 1942, when sixteen of the bombers lifted off the relatively short deck of USS Hornet and set course for Japan. Intended as a strike at the heart of the Japanese empire who had infamously attacked the us Pacific fleet at Pearl harbor, this audacious and heroic raid illustrated the resolve of the American people and the determination of their military forces to strive for victory. The early B-25B aircraft used on the Doolittle raid performed well, but were already in the process of being upgraded. The later C/D A06015 (different letters were used to denote the manufacturer) proved to be the definitive version of this extremely effective Medium bomber and was the first truly mass produced version of the aircraft. Please note, box and A06015 dimensions are shown as identical however only represent the box/package size.

Review: Good kit with lots of interior detail - I was amazed at how much interior detail this model had, not only the cockpit but the bomb bay and gunner positions as well. The decals were great. I built the "hairy beast" version and was apprehensive that I would not be able to get the decals on the nose properly, but I had no problems. The only downside was getting the model to properly stand on its landing gear. I had trouble doing this even using the bomb bay ladder for support. With the interior detail, there was no room to add weight to the nose. I had to glue a piece of clear plastic sprue under one of the main gear wheels to get it to balance properly.

I was amazed at how much interior detail this model had, not only the cockpit but the bomb bay and gunner positions as well. The decals were great. I built the "hairy beast" version and was apprehensive that I would not be able to get the decals on the nose properly, but I had no problems. The only downside was getting the model to properly stand on its landing gear. I had trouble doing this even using the bomb bay ladder for support. With the interior detail, there was no room to add weight to the nose. I had to glue a piece of clear plastic sprue under one of the main gear wheels to get it to balance properly.

Good model! Since it's airfix, the panel lines and decals are great. I had a little trouble with the landing gear due to the structural design of the model. Had to use epoxy. The rest of the model goes together perfectly. Only 1 option for decals but they're really detailed, so no complaints.
