Outstanding Long-Range Security with Incredible Reliability and Battery Life
The Blink Outdoor 4 XR system has blown me away in every way and has been a meaningful change for securing my property. The 2-camera system is perfect for any individual who needs outdoor coverage that can extend past the range of standard Wi-Fi cameras, especially larger homes, backyards, driveways, sheds, or detached garages. The first thing that really impressed me was how powerful the Sync Module XR really was, extending the range of the cameras significantly. Being able to have cameras a maximum of 1000 feet when AFK or approximately 400 in a standard environment was mind-blowing, honestly. For the first time, I was able to cover areas on my property with cameras that Wi-Fi cameras couldnโt connect to at distance. The signal was also very robust, showing fewer dropouts than a standard Wi-Fi system would have. Another major advantage offered by the new cameras is the fast live view. The technology employed by the cameras works within the 900MHz frequency, which always supports a clear path away from congested WIFIโs, and this translates to faster live views. There are no delays or freezing when trying to connect to cameras that are installed at a distant location from the house. Battery life is another massive advantage. Blink claims that their system has up to two years of battery life. With the Energizer AA lithium batteries that are included with the Blink system, this product lasts without the hassle of constantly supporting it. Not needing battery replacement or recharging is indeed a huge advantage, especially for those mounted in hard-to-reach areas outside. Blink app has an easy-to-use, intuitive design. Managing more than one device, entering arm and disarm modes, and checking video clips does not pose any issues. Also, I like the storage option flexibility, where users can opt to have the free cloud trial subscription of 30 days, buy a subscription, and even store recorded footage locally by adding an SD card to the Sync Module XR. The integration with Alexa is smooth and provides added convenience to users. The voice control function for live viewing and system operation makes this experience very contemporary and convenient. Installation of the cameras is exceptionally smooth and hassle-free. All the accessories, including installation kits, batteries, and power cables, are packaged with the product. The cameras are designed to be compact and can withstand harsh environmental conditions, allowing them to smoothly integrate with their surroundings. On a concluding note, the Blink Outside 4 XR camera system performs outstandingly at long range, is highly dependable, offers fast access, and boasts fantastic battery life. It is an excellent choice for home use by individuals wishing to enjoy reliable home security area coverage without having to fret about Wi-Fi issues.

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ Works well overall
The Blink Outdoor 4 XR camera was easy to set up and connects fast to the app. The picture quality is clear, and the motion alerts come through right away. The range is good โ I get a solid signal even from my backyard. The battery life is decent, but it depends on how often it records. With frequent motion, it drains faster than the โtwo-yearโ claim, but still better than most cameras Iโve tried. The app is simple to use, and I like that there are no wires or complicated setup. Overall, itโs a solid camera for basic home security.

It's a camera.
Camera works well but Blink pay walled notification silencing which sucks if you live in a high traffic area. The camera is clear and works well.

as advertised
**Blink Sync Module XR Review** If youโre already using Blink cameras, the Blink Sync Module XR is a solid addition to your setup. Itโs designed to extend the range and improve connectivity for your cameras, which is great if youโve got cameras a bit farther from your Wi-Fi router or are covering a large property. Hereโs my take on its main perks and a few minor drawbacks. ### Pros 1. **Better Range**: The โXRโ stands for โextended range,โ and it lives up to that name. I noticed a big difference in connectivity, especially with cameras Iโd placed farther out in the yard. No more spotty connections or missed motion events. 2. **Battery Boost**: One of the best things about the XR is how it helps with battery life. Cameras stay connected more efficiently, which means batteries last longer. This is a lifesaver if youโre tired of changing batteries frequently, especially on outdoor cameras. 3. **Simple Setup**: Like other Blink products, setting up the Sync Module XR is really straightforward. You just plug it in, link it through the Blink app, and youโre good to go. The app itself is easy to use for watching feeds, managing settings, and checking recordings. 4. **Local Storage Option**: Finally, Blink lets you add local storage with the XR! Just plug in a USB drive, and you can store clips directly without needing to pay for cloud storage. For privacy-conscious folks or those looking to save a few bucks, this is a huge plus. 5. **Convenient Remote Access**: The Blink app makes it easy to check in on things when youโre away. You can watch live feeds, get alerts, and adjust settings from anywhere. ### Cons 1. **Only Works with Blink Cameras**: If youโve got a mixed brand setup, this module isnโt for you. The Sync Module XR only connects with Blink cameras, and not even every single Blink model works. So double-check your cameras to make sure theyโre compatible. 2. **Limited Without a Subscription**: While the XR lets you add local storage, some features like extended cloud recording and more clip options still require a subscription. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind. 3. **Not Packed with Advanced Features**: The XR does a good job at the basics, but itโs pretty light on advanced extras. Thereโs no AI detection or high-end video analytics, so if youโre looking for really advanced security features, you might be left wanting more. ### Final Thoughts Overall, the Blink Sync Module XR is a solid buy if youโre already in the Blink ecosystem. Itโs reliable, extends range, saves battery life, and even gives you local storage. While itโs not loaded with all the bells and whistles, itโs perfect for someone who wants a simple, effective way to improve their Blink setup.

"The Testing Phase"
Review #1 - Date 11/10/2024 - "The Testing Phase": ----- Meaning I just got this & 1 of many New Gen 4 Outdoor Cameras. I have a huge Blink Camera System that consists of "8" Sync Modules (Including this one). So I have 8 Camera Zones that have a total of "23" Blink Cameras. All up and running seamlessly with usually no Drops or Offline Cameras. I do this so I can have some ARMED ALL THE TIME & Others ARMED ONLY When I Need Them, they are Inside & Outside of my house.. A Couple are EXTRA ZONES with extra cameras so they can be moved them around as or if needed. ----- I got this All-new Blink Sync Module XR โ System Hub to see if it really works as they (Blink) say it dose. I am hopping it dose Because I would like a couple of Cameras Out Further from My House so I can See more of my land & A couple looking Back Towards My House. All my cameras are always plugged in and waiting or watching. I set up this All-new Blink Sync Module XR โ System hub & I will Give it 4 Stars for now because I did just set it up and put a The Gen 4 Outdoor Camera (That came as a bundle) about 125' from the Sync Module, it was in my basement and had to go through 2 inside walls, 1 outside wall then out to the end of my fence. It worked the very first time. Not with great connections but it was more responsive than some of my other Cameras including Gen 4 Cameras that are closer & they all have 100% connection to there Sync Module 2 & Router. I will move the Sync Module Hub around my house hook it to a closer router ( I have 3). I will also PLUG the Gen 4 Camera in to a power supply (AS ARE ALL MY CAMERAS) & remove the batteries. I have noticed that ALL MY CAMERAS work better with a constant power supply. Blink Cameras are GREAT. I Love them & find them very dependable and at a very decent price when they are on sale. ----- I will update this review after a few weeks of testing.

Not reliable and not to be depended on to just work!
I'm totally blind. I would have to say if you only have one device and you have it inside your house, it is half way good. But if you have more than 1 outdoor 4 camera! It is hit and miss on if it will work or even if the correct camera is picked up as far as recording from. This is using the no plan option being I always want stuff going to a local card. Also if you have no internet, The blink servers are having issues, and or no power to the Sink module! Any of these three items will cause the recording to not even be picked up at all. So not a fail safe system to many issue of it not working to depend on for your only level of security to ensure things are recorded. In my own thoughts! It should always record to the Sink Module storage device and upload to the online server after the local recording is done so that away you can be assured you at least always have a local recording if you internet is down and or Blink servers are having issues. This would make it 100% more reliable than what it currently is. When using the outdoor 4 camera! Depending on the wall, you may get cases ware the phone says it triggered! But nothing gets recorded even when you have good servers to the Sink module and internet. To have a halfway good chance of getting things to work halfway good! Make sure you fully reset the camera and Sink module before even trying to bring it only. To fully reset the camera! Press and hold the reset button with the batteries in the camera but with one of them not making contact. While holding down the reset button, snap the 2nd battery fully in place. Continue holding the reset button for about 30 seconds and then release it. This will ensure that camera is fully reset to factory defaults. On the Sink module. Press and hold the reset button and then plug in the power to the Sink module and continue holding the reset button for about 30 seconds. This again will ensure that the sink module is fully reset to factory defaults. After this is done! Now you can bring the Sink Module and camera online. By doing the above, did help me with a camera that was having issues dropping offline. didn't fix the other issues with the wrong camera being picked up and or missed recordings. Just something to try and do before ever bringing the Blink devices online to start with. But like I said, I wouldn't depend on it for your only way of recording things. I would have an 2nd camera from a different maker to help ensure things are picked up.

Great security camera system for the money
I have purchased these blink camera system a few times. I have been using blink for about 10 years plus. They are high quality security cameras with a long battery life. The camera picture resolution is very good and I'm able to store the video footage on the module itself. I am very happy with the connectivity. And very happy with customer support. One of the cameras that I purchased the back cover of the video camera broke. Customer service replaced it very quickly. I also purchased the battery extension pack that makes the camera last for at least 2 years without a battery change. At this point, I have had no issues with camera quality, video quality, video retention, and easy to use application for iPads and Androids. I recommend Blink to anyone needing a quality security camera system for their home.
