Do you need this? Absolutely not. Could you get a cheaper one that does exactly this. Yes. It’s easy to use, gives the satisfying click, fits in the portafilter and does a great job leveling my distributed ground beans. It has a sick look, and for the price it’s worth it to me but I’ll be honest, function isn’t so different from the cheap one I got from a friend, and I really should have saved the money, but at the end of the day I like it.

Looks great and is consistent. No more adjusting grind settings between my spouse and I, since it’s the same pressure every time. Very happy with this tamper.

For my La Pavoni Millineum Professional the best filter baskets I’ve found so far are the IMS B602TH25 (15-17 grams) and B602TH29E (18-20 grams) Precision Filter Baskets. Out of 4 different tampers, this is the only tamper that fits the baskets so closely that there is no coffee whatsoever on the sides of the baskets after tamping. The tamper base is designed similarly to the base of my Pullman Big Step Tamper. If KuGuo comes out with a 51.5mm tamper base for The Force Tamper I will probably get one of those bases for my existing The Force Tamper too... maybe...probably... but just because I love that tamper, not because I think it would be possible for it to do a better job than this tamper :-).

This 49.7mm Normcore tamper fits the Introvert 58 to 49mm basket perfectly, which was the main reason I purchased it. The sizing is spot on and produces a clean, even tamp with no wobble or edge gaps. That said, while the product description mentions click style feedback, mine does not provide any noticeable click or tactile feedback at all. Functionally it still works well as a tamper, but if you are specifically buying this for the click mechanism, that may be disappointing. I've had the V4.0 for my 58mm machine and it works exactly the same so if that one is cheaper or on sale, I would grab it. Overall build quality feels solid and the tamper does its job in terms of fit and consistency. Just be aware that the advertised click feedback may not actually be present.

I recently bought a legit espresso machine (my first one) and as a beginner, I was struggling with inconsistent shots. I bought a few different accessories, and this tamper has been the most impactful to my workflow! It was sized perfectly for my 58mm portafilter (Fellow Espresso Series 1). The Good: Zero-Tilt Tamping: The leveling guide rests on the rim of the filter basket so you physically cannot tamp at an angle. Customizable Pressure: It comes with three interchangeable springs. While the 25lb is pre-installed, having the 15lb and 30lb options allows you to experiment with what works best for your specific beans and grind. Premium Construction: The weight of the stainless steel base combined with the aluminum handle is awesome. Reduced Channeling: It packs the coffee puck evenly, which significantly helps in pulling better shots. The Not-So-Good: Depth Requirements: Because of the self-leveling plate, this tamper requires a specific minimum dose of coffee in the basket. If you try to pull a very small shot with low grounds, the plate might hit the rim before the base fully compresses the coffee. Pro Tip: Pair this with a WDT distribution tool to fluff the grounds before tamping. The tamper handles the level and pressure, but it won't fix clumps that were already there.

Works great and looks great as well

I got this wooden handle 51mm tamper for our Delonghi espresso machine. It matches my wooden bottomless portafilter and my WDT tool (all from the same brand). I wanted this tamper to upgrade the one I have (and, quite honestly, make my espresso bar set up look nicer). Pros: It tamps so well! The puck is perfectly level, there is not coffee clinging to the sides like when I hand tamper — so the fit is great! Super easy to tamp and the click is very clear. The tamper is extremely well made and has a great feel. Cons: Okay, this thing is not necessarily intuitive when it comes to switching the spring. Why would they not automatically put the 30lb spring is beyond me. Most people would want to tamp with that amount of strength … so to put any other spring as the default is forcing the consumer to swap it out. Thankfully another reviewer put a video of how to do it. Overall, super happy. I LOVE the way it looks and feels. But when it comes to swapping the spring, I’m so not a fan of that.

Brutalmente caro mas brutalmente perfeito. Logo que eu pegas na mão sentes a diferença de qualidade, pesado e feito muito bem a vantagem é que a pressão pode ser regulada, fundamental para a preparação de um café perfeito, além disso o sistema permite que a pressão seja perpendicular permitindo o fluxo de água correr perfeitamente na base do café. No meu caso o dinheiro bem gasto

I don’t know why I didn’t get something like this sooner. This tamper is brilliant and consistent so there is no disparity between tamp strengths. And with the extremely reasonable price, I highly recommend it
