The metal buckle is well built and solid feeling. It grips both ends of the belt securely. A quick lift on the tag end releases the latch. The belt material is thick, sturdy feeling and has some elasticity without being too stretchy. It cinches up comfortably around my waist. I got all black. It has that subdued, understated look that says it's a belt, not a fashion statement. One thing that caught me by surprise. The description says "Ratchet Quick Release Belt." I was expecting some sort of mechanism where I would ratchet the belt tighter. It doesn't do this. You just pull and lock in place, like a normal belt.
