Cooling Summer Dog Coat, 40 cm, Blue

Coat is really effective at cooling down my heat-sensitive cavapoo. Just run it under the cold tap and squeeze out the excess water. Simple to put on as the fastening is just two pieces of velcro. My dog can get hot and bothered and start to bark so when she is unsettled I put the coat on her and almost instantly she calms down and falls asleep. Amazing! Only criticism is there's no hole for a harness in the coat but if it's hot enough to need this coat your dog shouldn't be going on a walk anyway so no big deal! ------------------------- Update - end of August: this jacket was a life-saver on our summer holiday. Although it wasn't too hot to go walking, the dog would return to the hotel very warm, to help her settle we would pop this jacket on her - she even slept in it a few times in the warm hotel room when the fans were not making it cool enough for her. She now associates it with being comfortable and will run to me when I get it out as she wants us to put it on her - she a dog that usually hates any form of coat or jacket - so this is pretty remarkable. Great product!

We have really struggled recently with our springer to keep him cool with the heat we have been having. I have a cool towel in the same fabric that you soak and it works amazingly so when I seen this as a coat, brilliant. It works exactly as it should. The sizing is also correct and fits perfectly. Brilliant value for money and stays cold for a while.

What a marvellous way to keep your pet cool. We were told about the cool coat by a family friend when we said our young cocker spaniel was suffering with the heat. The cool coat works very well and does not wet the fur so when removing the coat Harvey is cool not damp! The only downside, it’s recommended that the coat be kept wet when put away in its bag.

Fantastic jacket Was recommended to me Our boxer really struggles in the heat but this is a life changer for him I put it on near end of his walk when he starts to struggle as I don't want to put it on straight away and risk it warming up and he being no better off It's still cold and its soft abd pliable not corse when I put it on and stays cold for at least and hour ( although these temps of 27°+ he only goes out early or late but still needs it He's not a fan of jackets but this one he's good with and seems to realise its helping him cool down I put it in the fridge in these hot temps but it doesn't really need it below 23° for our BadAss Boxer Can't recommend it enough it's worth every penny I carry it in a draw string bag havasack style you can buy cheap and folds away in ya pocket eay when jackets in use Hope this helps

Item does what its supposed to. Seen a lot of reviews, that have low stars because of user error. Not because its a bad item. T.L.D.R if used correctly and in the right environment its a brilliant purchase. It does arrive wet, as its meant to.. when its dry its far less malleable, so will arrive wet. Its not been used elsewhere.. its intended. This item does NOT mean you can take your dog out In the heat. Its to keep them cool, indoors. If its too hot outside, putting this coat is not the answer, not only will it be counter productive, your dogs paws will also still be at risk of burning on a hot pavement. Take your shoes off and stand on the pavement, if its too hot for you.. then too hot for a walk. If you have a brachycephalic breed such as bulldog, frenchie, pug etc or even a larger breed. These dogs deal with the heat way worse than other dogs. So please keep that in mind. No dog has died from missing a walk. But heat stroke is very real.

Nice material used as seen a friend using it on her dog before buying. But my dog is big and wide. 55kg. So, the length is great but width could do with a bit more even the velcro could be a bit longer. That's why 3 stars

Unbelievable value for money and an absolute game changer in this heatwave. Ordered last night, arrived today and able to use it immediately to bring some relief from the heat to our girl. I should have read the measurements properly and got the size smaller ideally, but it does an amazing job regardless. We have no garden so have to take her out to toilet and this has just made her full of beans and enjoying her short walk out, no panting or sluggish walking and no spreading out on the kitchen floor to cool down after. So so glad I got this. Have ordered 2 for my daughter’s dogs too. Highly recommended.

This was a life saver for our big black dog during the recent very hot weather. The coat was cold even without wetting it and started to cool him immediately. Once I'd wet it he absolutely LOVED me laying it over him and went to lie down, no more panting at all! A fantastic product, worth every penny.

Used it for my Maltese who would still like to go down to play in 45 Deg C. works amazing, she was more relaxed wearing this and did not pant as much or get tired. Highly recommend it for summers in the Middle East

If you are spending time in a hot climate with your dog don’t question this, just buy it! You will have no regret! It is a fantastic product. Before this i was using a combination of other cooling methods, this is by far more effective and natural, removes the need for excessive air-conditioning and solves the challenge of dry warm evenings inhibiting exercise. I soak it in water and put it back in its plastic bag and into the fridge, when it is nice and cold i squeeze out the excess water so it is not dripping and close the velcro snug on the dog. Initially she was unimpressed, about 3 minutes later she realised how it is working for her and became completely comfortable in it. Now it is almost like chicken coming out of the fridge! It keeps her cool for about 5 hours (obviously in the shade) then it starts to become dry so just repeat the wetting process. You can test how effective it is, after a while just put your hand under the jacket, the body is completely cool. You will notice minimal panting, it removes the need for them to do this to cool themselves, the jacket removes heat from the body using evaporated cooling. Evenings in southern Spain in July it is often high 20’s or 30 degrees after sunset and the air is very dry, but with a fresh cold jacket longer exercise is no problem, it prevents overheating and dehydration, she is energetic for 5km no problem and longer with hydration and rewetting the jacket with a cold water bottle. After exercise especially just check the dogs body especially the shoulders and under the belly for any signs of rubbing or irritation. We have not experienced any problems. Follow the measurements from neck to tail in the chart, the sizing chart is accurate. For reference I got 60cm for her (she is slightly smaller than most huskies) The product arrives damp, this is intentional because if allowed to dry out completely it becomes like cardboard. When autumn arrives you can rinse it thoroughly and make sure it is clean and completely dry for storage until next summer. A very simple product that is a low cost natural and very effective cooling aid, a complete game changer for your dog. Just buy it. Your dog will thank you!

I bought 3 different cool coats for my 3 dogs with different body shapes. This one is my favorite material. It stays wet a long time. One of my other coats stays wet as long but it is so heavy that I think it has been bothering my dogs arthritis. This is nicely made. I have two complaint. The first is that it has velcro straps. I like the clips. The velcro eventually stops holding. Even now the velcro is coming apart a little. The second issue that the logo is so brightly colored that it takes away from the look of the coat. I don't care if they want their logo on it but make it the same color as the coat. You could see this logo color from space.
