Very cheaply made - better to make your own if you have the time
It's just a couple of hunks of plastic that they used a router to carve some channels and holes in. They didn't even bother to remove the plastic shavings on the edges of the cut-out shapes that the router made, or sand down the rough surface that the router made in the channels. So it's pretty messy looking close up. And the plastic balls are very lightweight and tend to bounce more than they should. It's definitely not worth $70. Maybe $15. Sadly, this was the only larger version of a quincunx that I could find. I had previously made a nice wooden one for teaching folks about evolution, entropy, and patterns of growth, but some mice moved into it as a home, and I didn't have the energy to make a new one, so I bought this, but I'm very disappointed. It does work for the most part, though, so if you're desperate, and have plenty of money, then it's better than nothing.

Three Stars
Lacks accuracy. Distribution is too predictable.
