Neo Blurring Powder: Korean Shine Control Compact with Pore Blurring, Smoothing Finish & Travel-Friendly, No Spill Packaging

Mrs K here: after a lot of back and forth with myself I decided to try this Laneige powder. During the Chicago winters I don't use much powder (52 year old, very dry, post menopausal skin) apart from an afternoon touch up on my nose. In every other month my skin goes full combination (yet remains dry, with all sorts of challenges). I do use powder to set my BB cream, and I've tried so many. This is a really exceptional powder. While I think the sort of Sputnik 60s retro/futuristic compact is almost too much, it's cute, and would look cute on a vanity, if that's your thing. I don't really care about the look of it. The silicone "mesh" inside the compact is pretty slick; the included powder puff is as soft as a kitten's fuzz, and again, secondary to the product itself, though quite nice. The powder is very, very finely milled, and whether applied with the puff, a mini triangle or a brush, only a tiny bit is needed to set your look or to touch up, and it vanishes into the skin. It absorbs excess oils and leaves my skin feeling like actual silk. It lasts for what seems like forever (I went to the gym and did a lot of cooking and other active stuff on a hot day, and I wasn't shiny when I got home, neither did my skin look flat or one-dimensional). Because so little powder is required to buff my skin I expect it to last for months and months; it's not irritating or drying, and I can't believe that I could love a powder at this age, but I do. It also gives that desired airbrushed effect; I feel like I'm walking around in good lighting. Just a really delightful and pleasant product that does what it claims to do, and very well. I recommend it highly.

I was skeptical trying yet another powder. I was afraid that this would be just another product that promises without delivery of results. But I gotta tell ya, this product more than delivered! I wear this without any primer or foundation. And I only wear a tiny bit of concealer and feel like the result is much more even than the full face of makeup. Yes, you have to touch your face up more often if you live in humidity. However, it doesn’t feel like it makes your face more oily! It does actually seem like it absorbed some oil and the pores look more relaxed. I have not tried this with my Elta Md tinted sunscreen. Honestly, it just depends on what you need and where you are wearing it, and what you are wearing it with (as with any makeup). I love wearing this at home right after washing my face and/or spraying some hypochlorous acid formulated for the face. I don’t think I will wear it over my sunblock, but I did appreciate how a little bit of concealer went on when applied over the powder already on my nose. (I’m using NARS Soft Matte concealer.) I wouldn’t wear this over my sunblock because my sunblock is oily. And because the powder pouf is sooo soft! I’ve never had any powder include a pouff like this and I wouldn’t want to dirty this one with other formulas. The design of this compact is also really great. I love how there’s a feature to prevent spillage and release fine, loose powder onto only the pouf. And inside the compact is a section that separates and holds the pouf, but keeps the rest of the powder contained while allowing you to open the compact to use the mirror and never have a messy surprise! I will post pictures later and update beyond that, if necessary. LOVE this brand!

This powder delivers on its blurring promise - it really does create a smooth, airbrushed finish on the skin. Dispenser concerns: The push-down dispenser mechanism is a bit nerve-wracking to use. I never quite know how much product will come out when I press, which makes it tricky to avoid waste or getting too much powder at once. It takes some practice to get the feel for it. I also can't see how much product remains in the compact, so I have no idea when I'll actually need a replacement. You're basically flying blind until it suddenly runs out. The puff: The included puff is wonderfully soft and fluffy, which feels nice on the skin. However, since I'm using this as a finishing powder over foundation, the puff picks up my foundation color pretty quickly. You'll likely want to wash it regularly or have a backup puff on hand. Performance & portability: No white cast, which is great (though full disclosure - I'm not very tanned, so those with deeper skin tones should test this). The compact is nicely sized for travel - small enough to slip into any bag without taking up much space. Bottom line: The blurring effect is fantastic and the compact size is convenient, but the dispensing system could use some improvement. If you can get past the learning curve with the dispenser, it's a solid finishing powder for touch-ups throughout the day.

Excellent blurring and blotting powder! The re-fillable compact is an added WoW for this excellent product. I wanted something to replace my Givenchy pink prism powder. I was growing more and more frustrated with the packaging. Yes, the Givenchy powder is phenomenal, but at such a high price, it shouldn't be such a pain to shake out and use😡! The Laneige powder not only works beautifully it's much more affordable and so easy to use. The replaceable compact design is brilliant so you can travel with it without spills or mess and the soft compact puff easily picks up and deposits product where needed. Very happy with this purchase! Note: hope I can buy replacement puffs as well as powder when needed in future.

I loved the way this felt and it looked amazing...for about 40 minutes. Then my face was super shiny, more shiny than when I use nothing at all. I'm returning it, not worth $25 if I have to reapply hourly

The Laneige Neo Blurring Powder is a terrific new product. I was initially hesitant because my skin is super fair, I don’t wear a lot of makeup, and I recently entered the over 60 realm. But their lip sleeping mask has long been part of my evening ritual—I actually can’t fall asleep if I’m not wearing it, so I wanted to give this a try. My experience with this blurring powder has been equally iconic. I have tried similar products that left my skin pasty and sticky, but this one goes on like magic. Laneige provides VERY detailed instructions for its use and care. The puff is huge—expanding even further when you pop it open. The surface is covered with a sticker explaining everything about the use; it can also be reapplied to help keep the surface clean. The surface covering the powder has tiny slits in alternating directions; you have to gently press the puff into it to release very small amounts of the powder. You don’t need much but can add coverage as needed. And it definitely does what it claims—it works subtly to blur pores and has a matte finish that looks great all day. I have never used a powder that works so well that it needed no additional application—my shiny t zone remained under control until I washed my face in the evening. The instructions specifically state that the rubbery surface has to be kept clean, I suppose so the slits don’t become clogged. As I wrote earlier, the instruction sticker really helps with this. The case itself is excellent; the hard plastic top opens with a mirror and the puff, then another plastic layer separates that from the powder. The case itself is very sturdy, so you can easily toss it in your bag and not worry about it breaking or spilling. My one issue is probably unavoidable. Because you apply this over moisturizer, base, or foundation, the puff picks up some of that color which is very noticeable after even the first use. I imagine that while the compact itself is low maintenance, the puff is going to require more cleaning than your typical brush. The Laneige Neo Blurring powder at $25 is not inexpensive, but it works well and seems to have a gracious amount of product. Its delivery time on Amazon is now listed at one to three weeks so I imagine other users are spreading the word! PS I just washed the puff with a little face soap and cool water. The makeup washed right off and it dried quickly, almost good as new.

10/5 stars for my oily face! It's a beautiful powder that sets my makeup without looking cakey. It keeps my face looking smooth and blurred for much, much longer than any other powder I've used before. I'm glad I finally decided to take a chance on it because it's been worth it for me. I prefer to use the cushion to pick up the powder and then use a brush to pick up the powder from the cushion because it keeps the cushion from getting gunked up with oils and makeup residue, which cuts down on how often I need to wash the cushion. If you struggle with your face becoming shiny after just a couple of hours, this is the powder for you. It's not expensive when you compare it to high end Western powders, plus you can get refills for it. The packaging is lovely, designed well, feels great to hold and use, and makes the product portable. However the box and the compact didn't come with a tamper-proof safety seal (see my pics). I was a bit apprehensive about it. I looked it up and it's apparently just how they package and ship this product. I think it's sensible to add safety seals to all beauty products, but I'll get over it because I love this powder. The powder itself has a type of seal over it (which comes with a short set of instructions) to keep the powder from falling out, but I wouldn't call that seal tamper-proof.

I’ve been pretty happy with this blurring powder overall. It does a great job of reducing shine and keeping excess oil off my face, especially when I first apply it. It gives my skin a smoother, more polished appearance without feeling heavy or cakey, which is exactly what I was looking for. The application is quick and easy, and the powder blends nicely into the skin. I also appreciate that the brushes clean up easily afterward, making it simple to maintain as part of my daily routine. My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the oil-control effect doesn’t seem to last quite as long as I had hoped. That may be partly due to where I live—Houston’s heat and humidity can be brutal, especially during the summer. On particularly humid days, I find myself needing to touch up sooner than expected. That said, the powder still performs well and helps keep my skin looking less shiny throughout the day. It feels lightweight, doesn’t irritate my skin, and delivers a noticeable blurring effect. While I wish the longevity was a little better, I’m still happy with the purchase and would consider buying it again. It’s a solid product, especially for anyone looking for a simple way to manage oil and achieve a smoother-looking complexion.

When recommended this product by a friend, I was skeptical. It worked so well and has become a daily part of my routine. It magically blurs out the pores and gets rid of oil instantly. Would very much recommend this to be in everyone's make up bag.

I have had oily skin my whole life, and I am 51 years old. Nothing I have used before has controlled my oil and left me feeling matte for a long period of time ever before. Not like this product. Not even close. I would not ever even use foundation because it would just slide off my face. It felt like nothing would adhere because my skin would just produce too much oil in the run of a day. I used to only dab on a little bit of pressed powder, put concealer on blemishes, and go, but an hour later it look like I had nothing on. So unhappy. Now: I do my skin care and put on moisturizer, then this powder, then my pressed powder over top and can go out for several hours/work/whatever and came home and my face still looked the same. I couldn't believe it. I am so happy and so pleased with this product! Highly recommend. Even on a day that I'm not wearing any make up. I can put it on after my moisturizer and it improves the appearance of my skin and controls oil.
