Excellent scale in every sense. It has a hefty weight to it. Has a pleasant "beep" sound that is not loud at all but easily hearable. They only "defect" this (and many not-so-expensive) coffee scales have is that you MUST always use an OLDER charger which outputs no more than 1A (Ampere). That's because the circuits these scales have are not sophisticated enough to receive a huge power output like the one of a fast charger, so if you do use a fast charger, the battery life will be ruined in little to no time at all. The brightness of its screen is OK, not super but enough and mostly adequate. What I like the most about this scale is that it is very responsive (aka. speedy) in updating the output being displayed as the espresso falls into the cup. And in everything you are measuring. Also the hefty body prevents interference from other devices like microwaves, which I have seen in other cheaper scales.

I use this scale every single day for weighing my espresso beans, and it has been absolutely fantastic. It’s very simple to use, responsive, and accurate. The timer function is extremely convenient for dialing in espresso shots and keeping consistency with my coffee routine. I also really like the overall design. It looks clean, modern, and elegant on the countertop without taking up much space. The display is easy to read, the controls are straightforward, and it just feels very well thought out for coffee lovers. For the price, this scale has honestly exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for anyone getting into espresso or wanting a reliable daily coffee scale.

Out of the box, this is a very nice looking coffee scale. I was surprised by how small it is, just small enough to make easier to travel with, and large enough that a Chemex brewer can still sit stable on it. The display is very bight and visible, I do have to squint a tiny bit to read it if I'm not wearing my glasses, but I don't have to bend down to see the weight or time. It's preset for grams and simple to tare and turn the timer on, though a touch more complicated to access some of the more advanced features. I dont really need the other modes, but two of them sound useful, the others Im not quite sure what they do. Auto seems to automatically detect a few things to start the timer without you having to press it manually. Espresso seems to help with manual or electric espresso machines by showing you the powder-to water ratio, though it's slight delay may be a bit of a learning curb. I can't understand the flow mode, I can only guess it's suppose to help me with understanding how fast the water is flowing through the grounds. There is also a pour reminder feature, though I don't see many people being so distracted during a pour over they would forget to do that. It's much more responsive than my cheaper 10 dollar scale, though there is still a touch of a delay. It seems to respond much better and faster to pouring water, and measuring out tiny doses of sugar and etc. It comes with a nice thick (Silicone?) pad that helps protect the glass surface and keeps things from sliding across it. It's designed specifically to fit the scale, and overlaps the edges while leaving the screen exposed. The screen does smudge easily and reflects light without the pad on, so this could be problematic if you have bright overhead lights or just prefer matt surfaces. The instructions say not to put anything hotter than 55c (131f) on top of it. I imagine the silicon pad is mandatory to protect it at higher temperatures if the mug/pourover carafe is not insulated, because most coffee is brewed between 170-200 F. Your not supposed to leave anything on the scale when not in use. If you have the tendency to leave a mug or other coffee supplies stacked on top of eachother, you will want to stack this on top of other objects rather than leaving anything on top of it. I worry this might complicate traveling with the scale, you might want to find a hard shell case to make sure nothing puts pressure on it in your luggage. The internal battery is charged via a USB C port (a cable with decent length is included). They instruct you not to use the scale while charging, though it automatically turns on when plugged in, which seems counter intuitive. They recommend charging the battery at least once a month to help maintain it's lifespan. The USB C port has a rubbery plug, it pops out a little too easy for my liking, though it is tethered to prevent it from being lost. I worry water can seep into the power port due to the loose fit. Speaking of water, I see plenty of gaps under the glass top of the scale. It does not look very water resistant, and the instructions seem to confirm this. I don't understand why they didn't design it with a seamless/sealed edge to prevent water from seeping in from a spill during normal use, seems like a big design flaw to me. In short, it seems to have at least one major flaw with the lack of water resistance in the design. Currently listing for 40 USD, I'd say it's at least a 3 star item, though leaning toward 4 with the nice compact design. It could be a 5 star item if they packed in a hardshell case and sealed the glass edges for better water resistance for the same price.
