First, the dry weight of the bag is only 3.5 pounds so I was literally able to stuff it with 46 pounds of New Year presents for friends and family and still stay under the airlines requirement of 50 pounds for checked bags. Second, I was thoroughly impressed with how rugged this bag was and how well it performed in the heavy snows and slush of more than one Moscow blizzard. I had no problem dragging it through the streets regardless of the heavy snow. Finally, I truly love the safari brown color of the bag I purchased. It made it very easy to spot the duffel on the airport baggage carousels. One last thing, the duffel includes a bag which you can pack it into when not in use. I used this for shoes during my trip and it worked perfectly. Just wish I had another one for wet or dirty clothes. All in all, the Eagle Creek is a great bag for rugged travel, international or domestic. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
