It comes with 4 side chairs and 2 arm chairs.

Q: Are the chairs sturdy enough to not fall over when you sit Barbie in them? Can they really be used or are they just more for show?

Yes, chairs are sturdy enough but barbies seem to be too long for any chairs they have & they are just kinda leaning on them & they could fall over but chairs hold up. It is a good set though my granddaughter likes it for all that comes with it.
