We live in a tropical setting. We take our shoes off in the house. In and out of shoes a dozen times a day. I've worn my first pair every day for more than 18 months. Frankly, I've worn the soles down and that's the only reason I'm replacing with an identical pair. Yes, the "slip in " feature works beautifully .. without socks! Highly recommended.
