A model for someone with a little experience and patience due to small parts, but no surprises
This is a typical Airfix kit. Some cleaning up required after parts removal from the sprue, as well as a couple of holes needed enlarging. Nothing very tricky, but certainly not for the absolute beginner because of the above and a few tiny, fiddly pieces. It is what it is on the box, and shouldn’t hold any surprises.

Is this really an Airfix Kit?
Once finished, it looks great, but I find it hard to believe it's an Airfix product. Normally the sprues are identified by a letter, A,B,C,D, etc and the parts on each sprue are numbered sequentially. So for example, the instructions would show C4 being attached to D26 and so on. However in this kit, not only are the sprues not identified, but the numbers are not sequential; Part 103 could be next to part 5 for example. That means for every part you need, you have to search all the sprues, looking for the part number you want. This is made worse by the numbers being badly pressed. 35 might look like 85 for example. It is frustrating and time-consuming and certainly time-wasting. There is a lot more flash on this kit which suggests it's an old model that's been remade using the original tooling that's probably past its prime. (Or it's a knock-off.) The decals are shocking. The roundel for the roof of the tractor is too big and all the decals have way too much border that overlaps the locations and makes them difficult to fix. I ended up having to trim them wet, which is a risky business. The parts used a pre-coloured sandy colour plastic for desert use, which I needed to overpaint for my purposes, but it didn't take well to it or the weathering process. You will need to study the instructions very carefully as it's not always clear in which order some parts need to be assembled. I was also frustrated by the figures. one of the sitting-down Bofors gun crew's legs were too long to fit between the seat and his pedals and I had to fix his seat further back instead of on its lug. The driver of the tractor's legs were so long I couldn't fit the side of the bonnet in place and actually ended up cutting off his feet! they weren't going to be in view thankfully. And yes, I did make sure I had the right figure in the right place. All in all, pleased with the final result, but very disappointed with the product's quality.

Classic kit
Classic airfix kit that was exactly the same as I remember from my childhood. It’s a simple kit that goes together well. It’s lots of fun to make

Great addition to an airfield diorama
This kit makes a very attractive addition to an airfield diorama from the Second World War. In terms of scale, it's actually 1/76, whereas the aircraft that I build are 1/72, but the difference is imperceptible. It also means that the Bofors gun and tractor are in scale with the other Airfix airfield 'accessories'. It's quite a challenging kit to build in terms of some of the parts being tiny, and some very fine paint brushes are needed to do justice to the kit, especially to the well-moulded figures that come with it. I've included a picture to show the finished kit - but please be aware that the sandbags are NOT included with the kit (they were made from Miliput) and nor is the 'grass' effect surrounding the gun emplacement. Paints and glue must also be bought separately. So if you want to add some relevant interest to your scale aircraft from WW", I can thoroughly recommend this model kit.

Enjoy the nostalgia!
I made up this kit in the 1970s last. I have bought a number of duplicates recently, but haven't made up any more models of this kit. It reminded me of the Dinky Toy 25 pounder set when I was a child, and enjoyed playing with that. I liked making the Airfix model in the 1970s, and still have it in my possession despite my home being renovated some years ago. It has more figures than the Dinky equivalent. That only had the driver figure. And the circular "platform" beneath the 25 pounder gun is included in the Airfix kit. The Airfix kit is 1/76 scale, whilst the Dinky was about 1/50 scale, I think. I imagine the Airfix kit is fine for war gaming, not taking up so much space. The Vintage Classics kit brings back memories. Yes, enjoy the nostalgia!! I reckon it's a fine kit.
