SUPMAKIN "FRESH" MEAT SLICER IS STURDY AND EASY TO HANDLE
Received the meat slicer a few minutes ago in perfect condition and good timing. After washing it, I tried my luck with a potato which is not what this unit was made for. It cut half way trough; then it became difficult to manage. I gave up and finished slicing it with my kitchen knife. No problem. But I am waiting receipt of Purdue chicken breasts from Amazon. When the chicken arrives, I will slice it all, separating a portion to cut it four ways to get it close to ground meat. This is a well made slicer that should be handled with care and used mainly for meats and other suggested food items. The slicer looks sturdy with the s/s blades very sharp as noted by the manufacturer and in some customer reviews. UPDATE. Soon enough, the chicken breasts arrived and I proceeded to slice one unit in an easy crisscross mode about five times. I seasoned the diced chicken with dry spices, and placed it on a 5" ceramic skillet coated with olive oil. Well cooked and brown on both sides, it was a delicious hamburger. As to cleaning, I used the spray hose in the kitchen faucet. With the spraying force, there was nothing left of the small residue caught between blades or on the plastic base. At that point, I poured soupy water as I sprayed the items one more time. All parts looked brand new. Caution: As noted above, exercise care when handling the blades. The base should be secured to the counter; hence, do not hold any part of it while slicing. In two sessions today, I had no issues since I had been warned.

Wonderful!! ( But sharp)
We live Philly Cheese steak subs and stir fry. So we got this so we didn't have to pay for already thin sliced sirloin at the grocery store. We got a few pieces of Chucky sirloin and used it in this machine. A little tougher to do than on some of the videos but it really worked perfectly. Now cleaning was easy with the brushes but I did have to take the two sharp razor parts apart to clean. Did so and put back together being very careful not to cut myself. Little bit later looked down and saw a cut on each hand on fingers. So even being careful still resulted in cuts. So immediately ordered a set of filet gloves. Won't use this thing without them just for safety sake. This is our firstbstir fry. We love it enough to keep it for sure!

Cheap Bad Design
Piece of garbage. Don’t waste your money. Bad design. Sharp blades but cheap plastic handle. Handle broke off second time I used it!! I gave it one star because blades seem to be good.

Works well enough for the price...but could be better.
Very skeptical when I bought this. I use this setup to make beef jerky with cheaper cuts of lean meat. Works well for what it is. I generally got slices that were very even. Normally I would get the meat very cold so that it's a little stiff for easier cutting. With this setup, I found it works better with fully thawed meat. A couple of areas I would improve: - The actual bin where would put the meat for slicing is rather small. Since I'm cutting for jerky, it's okay to have smaller pieces...but that's about all I will use it for. - The blades are sharp, and you have to be careful too make sure to line the blades up properly with the slots. When cutting, I can see where folks might have issues getting cut. - The meat holder comes with a suction cup. I found it useless...until I got it a little wet...then it works much better.

Limited types off use for this item
Too small to hold most items to be sliced. It works ok to slice spam and similar soft textured meats. It takes a bit of effort to slice onions. A Madeline would be a better choice for most slicing.

Love the meat slicer
I totally love this. It makes cutting thin pieces of meat so easily. Make sure your meat is half frozen and half thawed to make the slices easier. If the meat is rock solid frozen or 100% defrosted, it does not slice well. Make sure you carefully wash the blades because this slicer is very sharp

Pleasantly surprised
I was quite surprised with the quality and effectiveness. My goal was just consistent thickness on cute for making jerky and this does its job perfectly. I wish I had this device 10 years ago when I started. The base really hangs on tight to the counter, I was unable to get the base to budge at all while its engaged, so im confident the blades won't slip or something. Highly recommend

This did exactly what I wanted and what it said on the tin👍 Make sure you heed the instructions that the blades are sharp especially when washing😂 The slices were absolutely delightfully thin for my yakaniku beef. A credit to our appliance shelf indeed👍

takes a slice or two to get the hang of it for a nice clean slice. A little on the small size which if fine for making jerky. Cut my slicing time (by knife) from 30 mins to just a couple of minutes. If you don't want to spend the big $$ on a big slicer this is a great substitute
