Reverse Folding Windproof Umbrella, Large 46", Strong & Light

I bought these umbrellas for my wife and I about a year ago, and we've been very happy with them. I commute by train to Chicago every day, and the umbrella's portability has been great! I love how it folds in on itself in such a way as to contain the water on the inside. Just remember to open it up to let it dry when you are done using it. The automatic-closing feature is novel for me and I really enjoy it. It makes it easy when needing to quickly get into a car or train. I like the different styles you can have. I bought myself the "blue skies" model and my wife the milky way one. They're neat! It's honestly just a little thing that makes me happy. I will say, this really is a compact umbrella for commuters. I'm rather tall, and my legs do get a bit wet when the rain is coming down particularly hard. If you need more protection get one of Tumella's larger umbrellas. The build quality is nice. The materials are good, and I can see the clever use of springs on the inside. It has been one of the most stable umbrellas for me in the wind. However, as with any umbrella, sometimes the wind can catch these and pull the fabric up out of place. This can stretch the springs. This happened with my Wife's umbrella. One of the springs stretched out and was affecting how the umbrella folded. I contacted Tumella's support about the damage and they sent me a brand new umbrella for free under warranty. Of course, all warranties have caveats and exemptions, but they honored the warranty without any hassle. The support staff was great to work with. I would encourage any customer with an issue to not hesitate to contact support with any questions. Overall it has been a great umbrella. It's a good value, especially with a support team that cares about their products.

I originally purchased my umbrella from TUMELLA because I was looking for a compact umbrella, and the type that folds in the unique way that prevents the rain from going all over you when you close it. TUMELLA had exactly what I was looking for, with lots of attractive design options and so I ordered a beautiful one with cute pictures of dogs both on its cover/case and on the interior/underside of the umbrella. My new umbrella met all of my expectations - pretty, compact, lightweight, and closed in the manner that I required. But this is where my story gets interesting LOL…! 🤪 The one thing that I didn’t love about my new umbrella was that it was hard for me to close it. Generally, when you have a new umbrella, experience tells me that it becomes easier the more you use it, which is what I had hoped would happen with this one. I wasn’t too concerned because one of the wonderful things about TUMELLA umbrellas is that they come with a lifetime warranty, so I knew that I had something to fall back on if the closing mechanism did not improve. For me, it did not get better, and the situation became even more problematic when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. At this stage, I simply didn’t have enough strength in my arms to press down on the already difficult to close umbrella mechanism to push it completely into its fully compact position. At this stage, I reached out to TUMELLA and explained my situation and they responded to me almost immediately. They never once questioned the lifetime warranty, they were so sympathetic towards my situation, and having provided them with my original Amazon order number, they straight away shipped out, without additional charge, a replacement umbrella to me. The new one, I am delighted to say, works fantastic and is doubly useful to me providing rain and sun coverage. You can see the new umbrella and how it works in my video and photographs here. The quality of the products are excellent, and based on my experience to date, I have no hesitation in recommending TUMELLA umbrellas.

Ever since this type of umbrella came into existence I have always wanted one. I came across this company, and loved their message and what they were about. They grew from a small family operation and became global! My only complaint is that when I first opened the product it stuck a little. So the release didn’t allow the umbrella to open completely without having to shake it a tad bit. Other that that, it’s great. Less water in my vehicle, and they have a ton of colors to choose from, it’s lightweight, and a great concept!

This umbrella was a little pricey, but I wanted a nice one to bring back and forth with me to work. For six months I used it happily - it is a good compromise of small when folded and large when open. The flower petals on mine are so cute. On really windy days it did occasionally flip inside out, but I could flip it the right way again easily. My only complaint is that it is not really self-closing... the button closes the fabric part of the umbrella, but doesn't retract the umbrella (make it short again). If you push the button again while the post is extended, it will not open the umbrella. You have to push the umbrella closed before you can use the button to reopen it. That was a minor complaint of mine until my umbrella stopped being able to be pushed closed. I'm not sure what happened - I can't see anything, but perhaps the post has a slight flaw? In any case, I could not find a way to use the umbrella at all at that point as I don't believe it can be opened manually without using the button. I came to this page to write a review and give it 3 stars because of how it was unable to be used anymore, but when I looked at the product again, I was reminded that there is a warranty on the umbrella. I reached out to Tumella and explained my problem. After a brief back and forth about the issue, they responded that they are sending me a new umbrella! That customer service bumped the rating right back up to 5 stars. TL;DR: Love the umbrella, but had one small issue. Umbrella broke, company stood behind their warranty and replaced the umbrella. 5 stars.

I bought this umbrella not really expecting much beyond basic rain coverage, but I have been genuinely impressed on both fronts: the product itself and the support team behind it. The umbrella arrived on time and in perfect condition. It feels sturdy and well-made, not flimsy like so many others I have tried. It opens and closes smoothly, has a solid grip, and holds up the way you actually want an umbrella to hold up when the weather turns. No complaints whatsoever. But what really stood out was the customer service. Gen from Tumella Customer Care followed up personally to make sure everything arrived okay and that I was happy with my purchase. That kind of attentiveness is rare. You can tell this is a team that actually cares whether you walk away satisfied, not just whether the order shipped. I would absolutely recommend this to friends and family without hesitation. If you are on the fence, get off it. Great product, great people behind it.

We purchased these umbrellas in 2025. They worked as described, but after about 8 months, one was intermittently not opening. After a few more months, it wouldn't open at all. We reached out to the seller, as the items had a lifetime warranty. Within 24 hours the seller had responded and offered a solution. We sent a short video of the issue and they offered to send a new one. We received the replacement umbrella within days. Customer service was excellent to work with and the new umbrella works great! Would definitely recommend this item and buying from this seller.

So far I haven’t had any major problems. It’s a quality umbrella that blocks rain. It holds up in the wind though it feels like it’s about to flip if there’s a gust in a different direction. I enjoy the auto open and close function. It’s still working well. The reason for the lower rating is half the time I open it, it opens up flipped. I have to pull it back down to get it in the right shape. This is why I expect it for flip in the wind as well. If it flips up when it opens, it’ll flip in the wind.

!! Compact umbrella and simple to open and close. Best I have ever seen! Customer service was wonderful when my first umbrella had an issue. I will buy some for Xmas gifts this year

I found the button for the automatic opening and closing to be very useful when hands are full and it’s raining. Yes it does take a fair bit of strength to completely close the umbrella extension. However, the Opening and closing mechanism is extremely abrupt and quite loud to operate. I gave people close to me quite a start! The breeze did manage to flip this umbrella several times when I was using it for sunshade when walking and not in rain. I found this umbrella to be quite heavy too - especially for its size. Unfortunately, when carrying the closed Umbrella on my wrist as my hands were full of bags and parcels, I must have inadvertently dropped it or it slipped off my wrist… hopefully whomever finds it gets to enjoy my briefly owned umbrella. 🥹 at the price I paid, I’ll not buy another as I don’t thin out warrants the expense. Cheaper ones will do…

Disappointed. Heavy , difficult to get up & down
