An honest review from an audio snob
I was skeptical, but these speakers are pretty solid. Details below:PACKAGINGThat one reviewer's point about the packaging protecting the tweeters - the packaging isn't terrible. It's decent, but he/she is right - the tweeters need some sort of protection so they don't get damaged, especially when you're removing the speakers from the foam. Also, don't bump the tweeters, they are extremely fragile - that should go without saying.THE BEATS EFFECTAre Beats headphones good enough for you? Do you have $500? Buy this and plug it in and you'll be blown away. You can play with the THX, Dolby or custom equalizer settings in the Razer app if you'd like but you probably won't care enough. Are Beats headphones garbage to you? Are you a gamer? Do you have $500? Would you prefer to spend less than $1000+ on a new sound system? Do you prefer to have a 2-speaker desk setup and/or don't want to have speakers behind you that you may accidentally knock over with your chair or body or whatever? These are a really great choice. The first thing you'll want to do is go into the equalizer settings in the Razer app and change the equalizer to custom - and set all the frequency ranges to 0 (although for some reason, during one of the patches, they now save to all 1s... weird). Anyhow, do that. THX and DD (but especially THX) heavily modify the sound and any music with a significant presence of mids and especially highs will infinitely significantly better. It's extremely tangible in gaming and in music like Queen. Also, make sure the bass boost isn't too high for your tastes, unless you want to rattle picture frames.VOLUMEThese speakers get quite loud. No need to worry there. That goes double for the subwoofer. And the subwoofer is big and powerful.WARMTHIf you don't know what warm sound is, skip this point. If you do, after normalizing the frequency volumes and turning down the bass boost in the Razer app, these speakers will lose their warm sound. They're not quite as neutral or even cold as electrostats, but they're definitely colder than more expensive Bowers & Wilkins. The sound is crisp. A lot of the uber-mainstream garbage pop/rap and (for those of you who are older than 30) your older 128-bitrate mp3s from the mid-late 90s don't sound particularly great. Shower singing sounds pretty good until you remove the shower.DESIGNIt's nice and pretty. And, it's is less obnoxious than some of Razer's other offerings.OTHER THOUGHTSI use After Effects and Premiere for video editing and motion graphics. I find wearing headphone cans for a long period of time tiring. These speakers (assuming you balanced the equalizer like I mentioned above) are actually pretty decent for it - more than you'd expect. It's now been several months and I decided to do a written review here. I'm really quite happy with my purchase - because I was worried when I pulled the trigger. Assuming you don't dent your tweeters, I bet you'll be quite content with this product.

This is probably what your looking for but at a steep price
Ok so I previously had the Logitech G560 although I loved the RGB on it the quality was horrible in my opinion so returned it. My buddy has some Bose companion 3 series 2 speaker with a sub woofer and man did it rock but they don't make those anymore. I was looking for something with a clear sound and a hard bass that kicks loud!I love bass and these speakers bass is amazing it really gives you the kick your probably looking for and I really am satisfied with the quality of the sound. I put it up about 25% and sounds loud being able to adjust the bass is great and it really gets loud and feels like the Bose sub woofer my friend has and sounds louder and stronger. These will probably get the police called to your house and bother your neighbors which is great. I was going to return these speakers cuz they are so expensive but I fell in love with them and keeping them. I can finally listen to music and enjoy while using my PC as these speakers are strictly for my PC.The downside I would say is that these speakers are stupid expensive and would be good if they cost around 350-400 but hey no regrets this is exactly what I was looking for. I enjoy them and playing games loud explosions sound great as well as gun shot makes gaming experience so much more fun and makes everything more fun.The RGB i will have to say is pretty horrible and super dim but at least it has lights and when dark they are noticeable but very minimal. Another complain is that they are quite large and would be nice if they were more compact but with same sound quality. The subwoofer is large but thats fine cuz I love bass and these sure satisfy but at a steep price. Enjoy pick these bad boys up I recommend it if you got cash to blow on PC speakers.

Returning for a Steelseries Arena 7
I like Razer, I have several of their peripherals ranging from a few of their mice to upgrading from their Huntsman Elite to a Blackwidow V4 75%m their Seiren V3 Chroma, and will be upgrading to their Razer Kiyo pro Ultra eventually as my Kiyo Pro is showing it's age. Point is, I like the RGB goodness and to stick to a certain environment. So when I FINALLY decided to bite the bullet and get some speakers so as not to wear headphones all day (don't get me wrong, I love my Audeze Maxwells, especially after having EQed em just right) and decided to get these over the Vs pros, the Steelseries Arena 7s, and the Leviathan V2 Pro.They came today and I was soo excited, I spent time carefully plugging everything up aaaaaand.......won't power up. Nothing I seem to do powers it up. So when an audio friend was free he looked into it and asked if I had held down the button till it clicked. I admit I did not and tried, nothing. He then saw that this was a wide spread issue and talked me through a few solutions all of which did not work. The only one I did not do involved a screwdriver to the socket to force a discharge/power cycle, which I was not willing to do.So, in spite of liking their design, the idea of the synced RGB, and hearing how good the audio is when working, I will be returning these for a refund and getting a Steelseries arena 7. Why the 7s? My entertainment room is SMALL and have nowhere for the rear speakers so surround sound is kinda pointless. It is baffling though that this design flaw in regards to the powering of the speakers was never corrected over time and is still a wide spread issue to this day. Yes I know they have V2s, but I don't care for the fact they're not as aesthetically pleasing and that the tweeters are no longer separate. Could I go for the Leviathan V2 pro? Not really, as I have a 4k blu ray player where it would go and a low profile boom arm positioned over that so standard speakers it is.That being said, it really sucks that in my 4-8 years of owning Razer products that this is the first time their products have been unusable out of box for me. Heck, even SYNAPSE hasn't really given me issues. But I guess my good fortune was bound to run out at some point....at least the Arena 7s are supposed to be very reliable and have great audio too.

Died after 6 months.
These speaker sound great. However I have read multiple reviews with people having the same issue. These speakers are too expensive to die in less than a year with light use. Razer you need to do better and fix this issue or take these speakers off the market. All you other products are fabulous but this is not okay for such an expensive item that should last years.Update: apparently they have a fuse in them that occasionally triggers a shut off. You just have to unplug the subwoofer for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in and you’re good to go.

Razer Nommo Pro: Great Speakers But Far From Perfect...
Let me first say, I love the look of these speakers and they sound magical on the right setting. The speakers need to be attached via USB/Bluetooth and use Razer Synapse software or app to change the RGB and other audio settings. The Razer Synapse software will make it easy to link all your Razer devices in one spot (Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, etc.). That is, Razer RGB devices. Hence, if you have a color scheme it will follow on other Razer devices if you please. Now for what I don't care so much for and what could be improved. When I first set these speakers up on my desk, I went from using a pair of 5" Klipsch speakers paired with a vacuum tube amplifier to these 3" Nommo Pro. The Nommo Pro sounded terrible to my ears. Back they go! -- I thought. But I looked through the software and found some pre-EQ settings. Lets give these a try, nothing to lose at this point! After going through all the pre-EQ settings and trying it both in gaming and music I found the 'Dolby Game' EQ to be best, magical almost! Finally, a smile entered my face. Now for the RGB. Setting this up was fairly easy, select your color(s), pick a scheme and save to a profile. This is where this product fails in a multi- use setting for gamers. When you select the RGB one wants, it is saved to a profile on the users device and not the Nommo Pro itself. For example, I am able to save a Keyboard profile directly to my keyboard. So no matter where I take or use my Keyboard, everything stays the same, for it is saved on the Keyboards memory but no not the Nommo Pro. They can't be moved out to the living room to be used on your gaming system or tv for it will not keep the profile you have picked on your computer. Instead you are met with the nauseous rainbow effect that is just distracting. Lastly, the speaker cords are short! And I mean short! With use of an 34" ultra-wide monitor the subwoofer/control module has to sit under my desk slightly to the side of my feet. This can be frustrating when you stub your toe on the unit! I would of like to set it on the outside of my desk, one side or another. But the speaker cords are just too short. I decided I needed at least 3 to 4 foot extension cable so I hoped over to Razer's store website in search for such a cord. But no luck (of course) and the speaker ends terminate into a proprietary connector. I searched the web far and wide and was unable to any extension of such. One other thing I almost forgot to mention that becomes annoying with the Nommo Pro is that after so much time, like 10 or 15 minutes without any sound playing the Nommo Pro will go into standby mode but they will not wake back up after sound starts playing again. Now you have to reach over to the power button and power it back on manually. This may not be a deal breaker for some but it is annoying over time and worth a mention. I mean it is connected digitally via USB or fiber optic it should wake itself back up with a sound input but sadly it doesn't. Maybe in a future firmware/ software update this could be possible but not as of right now, it isn't. Strangely, my cheaper Creative Sound Blaster Katana soundbar would auto wake-up on all inputs even the analog input! But if you are like me -- for the most part -- just wanting gaming speakers; these have been wonderful. Wide sound stage and imaging is incredible! Details are drawled out into an immersive environment that is wide and open with precision. Both the sound and looks are beautiful but some minor details that where over looked and left out at this price keeps these far from perfect.

Amazing system.
This is a large system, The speakers and Sub are big. You will need to have a good sized desk for these speakers and the floor space for the Sub. The cords are pretty long so you can move them around. Hooking them up was easy and pretty straight forward. The bluetooth works well with my Desktop PC and Macbook Pro.The sound that this system produces is amazing. the sound doesn't come at you but it comes from around you. I tested this system with PC games, Youtube music from Eminem and Pink Floyd, Movies on Netflix and HBO. This system gets loud and the base will hit hard. I may buy a second set for my main TV in the living room. I don't know if you could find something better for double the price. i feel you don't have anything to lose with this system if you got the gaming area or entertainment area that can fit it.

Sound good, quality metal, bass is bigger than you think, overall good value for certain people
As a person who doesn't know a lot about audio equipment I just wanted something that was easy to set up and sounded good when playing video games and watching videos. I also wanted something that was quality and that would look cool. These speakers hit all of these things, they sound good watching videos to playing games. The speakers themselves are made of some kind of metal and the bass is made of the same thing. The look of these speakers is definitely one of the reasons I bought them and they look great in person and don't take up as much space as other speakers I was looking at. Also the app is easy to use and not buggy. You can adjust the bass and volume through the app, change through sound modes, and change the colors. One of the downsides is that the base acts as the central hud and everything else has to connect back into the base, which if you are trying to mount far apart won't work. Also when I was looking into buying these a lot of people were saying they were a rip off for $500 but after getting these speakers I realized that they are worth the price because of quality, the app experience, the color changing, and the style. Overall I didn't have many complaints

Wanted virtual surround, ok I'll take it.
Almost sent it back cause wanted virtual surround. It sounds too good. It has something of a virtual surround. That base will shake you floor. Awesome.

Will rival most home theater speakers
Jaw dropping ultimate audiophile sound if you have an audiophile sound card. Superb design and quality. Worth every penny. Subwoofer alone is worth the set price. My home theater has 11.2 speakers in ATMOS with main speakers being Paradigm Prestige series and Energy speakers for the surround. Before buying these I scoffed at the notion of 2.1 channel. However these speakers are truly amazing for music, gaming and movies on a PC. I ran through dozens of songs from heavy metal to pop to choir to vocal on iTunes and they all sounded amazing without any adjustment to the EQ. What was also interesting is that they all sounded amazing regardless of whether THX, Dolby game or Dolby Music was on. If you want audiophile sound you need an audiophile card like HT Omega or EVGA Nu Audio Pro Card. If you are using onboard sound or a cheap sound card or a low end motherboard you may not hear how amazing these speakers are. Before this I was using a Razer Tiamat 7.1 headphone. There is nothing designed for PC that is even remotely close to these speakers.

Sound sooo good. So happy with this set. Great software to boot!
I am very impressed with these. Watched all the videos, did all my research and ended up, grudgingly, pulling the trigger on these. Am I disappointed, buyer's remorse?I can say that the people at amazon delivered on time, easy purchase and within 2 days vs 3 to 4 weeks at other places due to "Special Order" status.Razor, omg, thank you for building these! They actually bring out so much sound and things I've never heard before. I've got some Axiom M80's that I use for listening to music in stereo in the basement but wanted something GOOD for my computer setup. This really brings out things that I never heard before on my previous set, harman kardon soundsticks 2, The Harman kardon's did a nice job but was lacking something that these Razors just illuminate!Very impressed. And when playing these loud, crisp, clean, no distortion and thinking of getting a DAC as well, to see if that will make this sound even MORE incredible.Software is just amazing and I thought it would be gimmicky, NOT.5 Stars!! I love these, been only a week and I can't get away from these unless it's late a night then I turn to the SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless (for XBox). If you got the money (pricey), they are worth it.It was a close choice between AUDIOENGINE A2+'s and these Razors. The AUDIOENGINE A2+ do not come with a sub and would have placed me over the 1000 dollar mark with the sub, so, I plunged into the Razor. You will not be disappointed!
