OM SYSTEM Olympus VN-541PC Digital Voice Recorder

I would like to write a product review on the OMvia Amazon systems VN-541 PC voice recorder, but I can't because it arrived via Amazon batteries were fitted it but could not be operated. When the batteries were fitted it went straight into record mode and from that point none of the control tabs would operate which means the device could not be set up. Internet research revealed that this is an occasional issue with this model, and may not be solved. Worse still, I was busy and out of office when the device arrived so did not discover the fault until the Returns window closed, so I am seriously out of pocket.

In a world of technology this little device, is NOT redundant! It's so helpful! If you have to take minutes for a meeting, record something for insurance purposes, need a memo reminder, this is it! For so small a device it packs a wallop! It can record very, very well. Set it on a table and it can record a conference room full of people. It also holds a ton of memory! It's easy to use and the battery doesn't die very quickly. You can plug it into your computer and download or you can plug in headphones and transcribe it. I love it and would definitely recommend this!

Very disappointed. The box that held the item was split open. When I followed the instructions to set up the recorder, the screen froze and did not change. I returned the recorder.
