What bluetooth version is this?

Not sure what you mean regarding version. I didn't know there were versions! It connected to my phone right away- I have a Google Pixel.

Can you sleep in these?

Great question - I haven't tried sleeping in them but their small size should make for a very comfortable fit

What is the battery life of the buds themselves without the charging case?

Not entirely sure. They're still new, and battery life is usually really great at first, but I've had them out all day at work, and had no problems. Then, I left them out for a few days, popped them into the case and within minutes they were charged.

Are they symmetrical?

Each ear bud denotes a side, just like AirPods; however, I don’t notice a difference in fit, unlike AirPods. There appears to be a connection btwn each bud providing a different function when you tap the logo. In conclusion, you can mistakenly place the wrong bud in the wrong ear and still use them just fine.
