This is a model of the Mandalorian’s latest ship the N-1 Starfighter, replacing the Mandalorian’s Razor Crest, piloted by the Mandalorian and featured in, you’ve guessed it, The Book of Boba Fett. Whilst this might be confusing to those unfamiliar with Disney Plus and perhaps buying for a relative or friend, essentially they went down a Marvel inspired crossover of different series, but rest assured this ship will no doubt take centre stage in the upcoming Mandalorian season 3. The first thing to note is that the N1 Starfighter is big, larger then it’s 412 bricks would lead you to believe. I mean we’re not talking Death Star big but at 42cm in length this ship eclipses any other comparable ship in the Lego Star Wars range. Great for value and playability but maybe a little out of scale for a fighter, being only 2cm smaller then the current Lego Millennium Falcon. But in the age of inflation perhaps we shouldn’t complain about getting more for less. And yet I have, it’s very confusing. Build time is roughly 2-3 hours, is simple enough for youngsters still mastering their brick knowledge, and the free Lego build app is always recommended. Features include a spring loaded shooter, a small cargo compartment and two cockpits, one for the title character and one for his small companion. Size aside this is a very accurate depiction of the on-screen ship and detail is up their with the best of the Lego Star Wars range. The kit includes four minifigures, a good amount for the cost and brick count: The Mandalorian who comes with a jet pack and darksaber for the first time, Grogu, Peli Motto the loud but comically sound mechanic, and one of her worker droids. A well rounded set of characters for playability and for those looking to add to their Mandalorian collection. All things considered this is a great set. Sure ‘it’s no Razor Crest’ but exceeded all expectations in detail, size, and minifigures and fans of the series impatiently awaiting The Mandalorian season 3 will love it. Also at £49.99 at time of writing it’s cheaper then the official Lego RRP, much cheaper then the Razor Crest at launch (£120, seriously Lego?) and will no doubt explode in popularity when the new series comes out. It’s definitely worth adding to your collection.

Excellent LEGO Star Wars set with a fun and engaging build. The U-Wing looks great once completed and feels sturdy enough for both display and play. A really satisfying build for any Star Wars fan. FIrstly this a much larger lego kit than I initially anticipated, dont be disueded by the 'relatively' low piece count either as it makes good use of larger parts and plates to create the overall look of the final model. Sadly no chrome pieces in use here (unlike the early Lego N1 from episode 1 days!) so the use of greys and a dose of imagination will have to suffice. The building process is, as you'd expect from a Lego product, methodical and easy to follow with some nice techniques to create the 'unfinished' look of the engines with reference to the source material. The overall look and feel is executed pretty well I feel and certainly 'swooshable' if that's your thing. The set also features a nice little storage compartment in front of the cockpit to store the parts you have to remove before placing Mando into the cockpit so you dont lose them... Nice minifigure selection, this time Mando actually gets a face under his helmet! The ubiquitous Grogu 'baby yoda', Peli Motto and a single molded BD droid (very tiny if I'm being honest). For the RRP it's not the best value, despite its finished size, if you can get it around or below £40 I'd say thats about fair for what you get. This is also a brilliant start point for modifying the kit itself - in true Lego fashion it forms a solid basis for a MOC to further enhance the look to closely represent the one seen on screen. So, a fun build and satisfying result with room for additional tinkering, what's not to like?!

The U-Wing is one of the coolest ships in Star Wars (IMO) as it looks great but is also designed to be multi-functional. This model certainly does that justice, but I am knocking one star off because the cockpit is a little underwhelming compared to the screen version. Getting the Andor mini figures (Andor, K2-SO, Dedra and the ISB agent) is a bonus (and let me recreate one of my favourite scenes from series 2, as my photo shows). The instructions were clear and the finished model is a good size.

Zoals gewoonlijk een mooi Star Wars spaceship met een hele mooie prijs en ook één met een te verwachten stijging in waarde van meer dan 50% na retirement medio 2027 met zelfs uitloop naar verdubbeling. Ik ben een fanatiek verzamelaar en vind regelmatig op amazon geweldige buitenkansjes. Vaak stukken goedkoper dan bij de bron zelf, LEGO. Veel van mijn sets houd ik in sealed condition. Maar dan wil je wel een onberispelijk mooie doos hebben. Dat is in dit geval al flink verknald door de vermoedelijk lompe behandeling door vervoerder DHL. De box heeft op een hoek lelijke schade opgelopen. Daardoor geen vijf sterren, maar slechts drie. Sorry. Dan maar open maken en bouwen. Niet gewend van Amazon, helaas wel van DHL. Amazon, quality control van jullie is bij DHL wel een keer op haar plaats.

En tant que fan de l’univers de The Mandalorian, je cherchais un modèle qui capture vraiment l'esthétique de la série, et je n’ai pas été déçu. Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé : Une expérience de montage géniale : C'est un pur moment de détente. On retrouve tout le plaisir nostalgique de monter des LEGO, avec une construction suffisamment facile pour ne pas être frustrante, mais qui offre tout de même ce petit défi technique que l'on recherche. Un visuel impeccable : Une fois terminé, le modèle est superbe. Il est fidèle à 100 % aux photos de la boîte. Sa taille est idéale pour l'exposer sur une étagère ou un bureau sans être trop encombrant. Le cadeau parfait : Si vous avez un fan de Din Djarin ou de l'Enfant dans votre entourage, c'est une idée cadeau "valeur sûre". Le rapport qualité-prix est excellent compte tenu de la finition.
