Yes. We have rented Rug Doctors many times in the past. We liked their performance. We hired a service twice since because we figured we are getting older. We decided to purchase a RD because we can do room by room ad we please. We have also lent it out to our kids with new grand babies. Quite worth the money. Same machine as rented option tiny different design. Probably more modern, if you ask me. Filter in dirty water reservoir kind of fussy to detach and reattach. Overall it pays back after cleanning your whole house twice.

What are the tank capacities in gallons?

Not sure but I can do a large living room on one tank. Did most of my house one (5) fills with half a jug of cleaner.

How much does the rug doctor pro deep commercial unit weigh? Is it lighter than the kind you rent?

it's been a long time since i've rented a rug doctor, but i'd say mine weighs around about 40 pounds. i can pick it up with 1 hand when it is empty.

What’s the difference between the “Original” version and the two others shown alongside it on Amazon? Big price difference can’t be just the sokution

Capacity I’m sure is one. I have had many shampooers, and out of all of them, I love my Pro rug doctor. Easy to clean, store, use. I guess it really depends on what you’re looking for out of a shampooer.
