Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan (Alumnus of Al Azhar & Cairo Universities and PhD from Manchester University) English translation of the Holy Qur’an remains faithful to the meanings as understood by the early Muslims while at the same time being simple and easy to read. The annotations are informative. The appendices and glossary are helpful without being over being for the general reader. It makes for a great resource for self-study and contemplation on the holy verses. This work is another example of Indian Muslim efforts in the service of The Holy Qur’an in English. The first translation in English by a Muslim was also done by an Indian Muslim-Mirza Abul Fazl of Allahabad. This latest translation by Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan is a testimony to this 113 year old legacy.
